can I come back to play?
Sorry I went MIA, JM got a bit crazy for me, and life in general went into a bit of a downward spiral, but it's now rather grand, so I decided it was time to go back to my old JM haunts.. so here I am!
Congratulations to all the Junebugs who are now big brothers/sisters, and to those who will be big brothers/sisters in the next 9 months! I can't imagine having another baby now, but part of me wishes I could have another 2!
the kids... Gaby is now 5 and at school (how???) - she is getting on so well in her class, particularly at maths - she's already well ahead of where she should, considering she only had 6 weeks of school before we let out for the summer holidays! She's growing so much - I'm sure she'll be taller than me in no time. She is certainly becoming very headstrong (read: a total battle at times!), but she's also showing what an amazing person she's growing into, and I love hearing her view on things. She's certainly a unique child! I'm hoping to get her into a team sport this winter - over here they can't really do team sports until they're 5, and I know it's something she'll love. ln more... 'interesting' news, Gaby is going to get another little brother or sister this year... her Dad got his girlfriend/ex/girlfriend/ex/whatever pregnant and is being an utter ********* about it - so we'll have to see how it turns out! It's weird thinking Gaby will have a sibling that isn't 'from' me... I just hope she's able to have a relationship with him/her.
And Miss Emersyn...

that kid is crazy funny... her language development hasn't been as fast as Gaby's, but she is starting to say more words, and definitely gets the message across when she isn't happy about something... the latest thing is saying NO when she doesn't want something... such as changing her diaper, she'll say no, then walk away from me backwards, covering her booty with her hands. Tre cute. For now. I'm sure the novelty will wear off very soon though. I have no idea what she weighs/measures because she hasn't been checked by our well child service since she was 8 months

the doctor weighed her on the digital scales in his office & she was 11kg - but that was a few months ago now. She's finally sleeping through the night properly - has been for a few months, and is still in a cot... I was close to putting her in a big girl bed because she would scream when I put her in the cot, but seems that she's okay if she's got a couple of toys in with her. I DO want to have her in a bed by 24 months though. Her Dad has moved up here to live, so she spends the weekends with him & his partner... it took her awhile to go happily with him, but now when she sees him she gets excited, which makes me feel good - and it makes him feel good.
And me???? Blissfully in love

I met this woman about 18 months ago through a local health/parenting/everything forum, and we would talk online, text each other etc etc.. after our big quakes in June she text me to check up on me and then we started texting a lot and skyping all the time.. turned out we had a TONNE in common.. I began to think of her as my best friend, and vice versa... there was NEVER any thought of it being more than friends, and when she came down to stay with me for two weeks over Dec/Jan, we both realised how much we 'clicked' and things went from friendly to more-than-friendly.. and by the time she left we realised we were in love... Nothing has ever felt more natural or right... Obviously she lives out of town, but she's planning to move here (that's always been her plan), but we need to wait for her ex husband to find a job here - her & him have almost 50/50 shared care and agreed when they divorced that they would always live in the same town/city. He wants to move here too, so it works out well. So yea

I'm unexpectedly very in love.... hehe, even more unexpectedly for her... She has 2 kids, 7 & 4, and they both sound so much like Gaby... It's going to be great when we can finally all be together. I never really believed in soulmates, or in meeting someone and knowing straight away you were going to be together for ever. but with L I KNOW...
Other than that, my sister & I are about to go live with a cloth diaper business, the website should be finally finished in the next week or two. I can't wait. I'll explain that more later.
Oh & the earthquakes? Yea, we're still having them

Latest big ones were in December (23rd) - we were at the mall when the first one hit, which was a 5.8... my first one in public, we'd JUST sat down to eat our lunch & next thing... Then there was a 6.3 about 2 hours later.... It's almost a year now since our deadly quake.. gone so fast!
Oh.. and my niece - remember, my itty bitty niece? She'll be ONE in under a month!!!!!! She's just started walking and is so adorable.. and Emmy and her are starting to interact more, and I have a feeling they'll be BIG trouble together in a matter of months!
time for photos I guess?
Em still has crazy gorgeous eyes
