If you saw someone steal something at Target/Walmart or somewhere similar?

If you got home and realized that you had unintentionally stolen something from the same store?

If I saw someone steal something, I'd look around to see if anyone who worked there was around, but otherwise probably nothing. There are cameras everywhere and alarms at the entrances of most stores, so the culprit will probably get caught.

If I accidentally stole something and I realized it before I left the parking lot, I would go back. But at home, I'd just let it go. Unless it was something big, but I don't know how I would get away with that without getting caught at the exit anyways.

I guess both would depend on the situation. But really, I probably won't stick my neck out to get someone caught stealing at a big ol' place like walmart.

i have done so much stealing since having kids! Things left on the top of the stroller, behind a kid, etc. Always unintentional but I have never gone back and paid. That's right. Sometimes I notice at home, sometimes I notice in the parking lot, but I have never gone back. I am pure evil (more likely just lazy). Sorry. It has happened somewhere between 5 and 10 times in the last 4 years.

I think that it would all depend on the situation.

Depending on when I found it, I would take the item back the next day and pay for it or go back in immediately. I forgot a lipstick in my shopping cart and didn't realize it until I was in the paring lot. It was a pain in the butt, but I got Cam back out and went inside and paid for it.

If I saw, I would report to the store.

If it was me, no I wouldn't go back. I don't steal intentionally. To be honest, I'm the one who gets a bag left out or can't find items although they are on my receipt.

I have yet to walk out with anything extra that I didn't pay for.
