I live in the part of the world that generally has a pretty decent sized mosquito population in the spring and summer months. It would seem that they are already out in force this year, which is making me think that it's only going to get worse as the spring/summer goes on.

Do you use any insect repellent on your kids? What brands/types have you tried?

Anyone have any good natural suggestions for keeping them at bay in the yard? We do citronella candles when we are all out there eating, but that doesn't work for when the kids are playing in the yard.

We went camping a couple of weeks ago and the bugs were bad, so I went to the store and actually found a "all natural from a plant" Off. It didnt have the horrible Off smell. I didnt spray it all over jax though, just mostly his clothes feet area.

Bugs aren't huge problem in regular day to day summer time but when we are in really buggy places we use a bit of kids bugs spray. It's only a handful of times a year. We try to mostly just cover the skin with clothes but we use a bit. Unfortunately, we haven't found any really effective natural bug products.

The "skeeters" are horrible where we live. I do put repellant on Abigail but I try not to put alot. I just use Off but I am on the lookout for something else.

It sounds odd but if you are outside put small cups of mouthwash surrounding where you're going to be. It keeps the skeeters away. I've done this and it worked. It's also cheaper than buying bug sprays. You can also spray some mouthwash on yourself. But then you have to deal with the fact you smell like mouthwash.
