This seems to be Xaviers favorite word. If I ask him to do anything all I get is "what?" Its REALLY frustrating. Heres an example.
Me: "Xavier go play on the mat"
X: "what?'
Me: "Go and play on your mat"
X: "what?"
Me: "Can you go and play on your mat please?"
X: "What?"
Me: "GO AND PLAY ON YOUR MAT!"
X: "What?"
I know he can hear and understand what Im saying, so how do I get him to stop?

Ignore it? I don't like repeating myself. I will say something a second time if they didn't hear me or understand, but after that, I walk away.

He does it with just about everything though, stuff that you cant just ignore and walk away from.
"go sit down for dinner"
'what?"

"turn your light off"
"what?"

Like seriously, he does it to just about everything I ask/tell him to do

Hopefully the phase passes quickly!

I know Holly hates when I threaten to do something for her. So "go sit down for dinner" followed by a 'what?" would then be :Go sit down for dinner or I'll will put you in your chair myself" and then proceed as necessary. A bit of a hassle but seems to work. I don't ask something of them over and over. I ask and then I do.

Yeah Ive started doing that the past few days as well. Talk about a tanty when I do it XD

I dont see how that would be any less annoying to hear constantly.

I don't mean it in a jerky way, just that it could be helpful to discourage the annoying behaviour while presenting a positive solution.
