View Poll Results: Would you use the Copper IUD again?
I think we're ready for long term b/c (we're waiting to "fix" him until we're 100% sure).
NFP doesn't work for us, the pill... well I just don't rememebr to take it most days, the patch isn't offered here, I'm not sure about the ring, the shot made me bleed for 6 months straight (not spot, but bleed).
I don't know if I'm even a candidate for an IUD, (I've had 1/2 my cervix removed). I was wondering if any of you ladies have anything neg or pos to say about the IUD's especially the copper.

I had a IUD for 5 years and I loved it! I never had a problem with it ever. We did the same thing, the shot made me bleed, the pill i forgot to take and we wanted to wait till we were 100% sure. Anyway, I would say that they are a good choice, as far as having 1/2 the cervix removed, I don't know if that would make a difference or not. I would check with your OB. But if she says it does not matter I feel it is a wonderful choice og b/c. Hope this helps.
I got the mirena last month. I love it! I cramped the first night, then spotted for a few weeks and now I am spot free I did a LOT of research on all BC options and the mirena seemed to be the option for me. I read that the copper one makes you have heavier and longer periods. The mirena makes them shorter and less often. (For most) Plus the mirena is 100% effective. Thats better then getting your tubes tied thats only 99% effective. The best advice I have is ask a lot of questions to your doc and read up on them on the internet. Good luck!
I had the mirena put in after I had Josh----I bled for 6 weeks and felt awful AND I had horrible horrible mood swings so I had it removed. My hubby was fixed just after I had it removed. I think part of me just hate the thought of there being something inside of me.
Good Luck! Maybe it will work just fine for you----I've heard other women love it.
