just wondering, those of you who have had tubal ligations - did it have any affect on your period??

mine is taking forever to actually start, and i'm wondering if it is partly to do with the tubal ligation? I know it probably isn't (and more related to having given birth), but thought i'd ask!

When mine arrived after my last child it was super heavy and clotty(sorry tmi). That was a bit unusual even though Im a normal heavy flow anyway.

After that it sort of hit this sometimes heavy and rotten and sometimes quite light stage. Thats where Im at now 2 1/2 yrs later.

Mine started as expected, but it's much heavier during days 1 and 2 than it ever was before. The bleeding only lasts 3-4 days (where it was 5-6 pre-tubal), however, I spot for like 1 1/2 - 2 weeks afterwards... which is incredibly annoying. Mine was 2 1/2 yrs. ago, as well.

I haven't had a tubal but I've found that my cycles are getting odder after each kid.

thanks ladies.. my period FINALLY arrived after like 10 days of stop/start spotting... It's a lot heavier than normal, but i don't know if that's down to it being the first PP period, or because of the tubal...

Mine has been horrible and lasting at least 1.5 weeks since I had my tubal in 07. I realize I'm in the minority here but thought I'd tell my story. Oh and no there's nothing medically wrong with me either to be causing things to happen this way.

Thanks. What really really sucks is the fact that I'll most likely have at least a partial hysterectomy before I'm 30--I'm only 27 now. ::: Forgive me, don't want to thread hijack. :::

Oh wow. It that mainly due to the length of your cycles now?

The length and intensity of the cycles and the fact that I cannot do hormone therapy.

I wish you the best of luck. Not that having a partial hysterectomy is anything to look forward to, but hopefully, once it's done, you won't be dealing with all of that anymore. <3

Thank you. I'm hopeful for the future but I also know it'll be a long road to get to where things are "normal." It should be "fun."
