Hi. I am new here, but asking for some advice. We are done with kids. It is kinda by choice/kinda not by choice.
We have 3 kids, but none together, however, my health would never allow me to survive another pregnancy. I have a long list of medical problems which will not allow mw to take any form of hormonal birth control.
My drs will not preform an elective operation on me as my abdomen has been cut on too many times.
Right now we use condoms and HATE it. We are looking at something permanent for me. We know a vasectomy is permanent, but we are looking for something for me.
The two options we have come up with are Essure and Paraguard IUD. What are the pros and cons other than Paraguard not being fully permanent.
We just got over a big scare where we thought I was pregnant and we can't go through that again.
I don't know what Essure is. But I loved my Paragard IUD. I wouldn't have had it removed, except it was medically necessary. That was my semi-permanent BC. I hated having it taken out. Now I'm back to hormonal BC and I am seriously considering getting my tubes tied. I recommend the Paragard. It hurt like a b*tch going in, won't lie about that. But best thing I ever did. Believe me, the pain was worth it. But not everyone experiences pain. I've just always been super sensitive down there. Good luck in whatever you decide.
