We just had our 5th little one in May and I had a tubal after delivery. Pregnancy is so hard on me towards the end(Bad Bad veins, HP) and I felt so blessed to have 5 healthy babies that I would be done after this one. I'm not even going to tell you the lamest excuse my DH gave for not going and getting a vesectomy so I said I would get the tubal. Now that she is here and I feel great, I am sorry that I got the thing. I'm sad about it and think, just maybe I will be one of the "lucky" ones that the tubal fails. Thats bad I know but honest. I am 36 and do worry about that but when I went to the large family board, I feel ripped off. Is this normal to feel this way or did I make a mistake?

When you say you feel ripped off i know that feeling well.Last yr in April i had a health baby girl by c-section at the time D/H and i felt happy with this as we had a boy already so we were thinking of having no more by our own choice. But unfortunate for us the decision was taken out of our hands as i kept having bleeding problems after the birth due to infections on further investigations it was due to a whole in my uterus.Which was a result from the c-section site not being sewn up properly.By the time the specialist got to see me which was to months later the damage was to great to repair the infections had made a mess.So i had to have a hysterectomy which made it very final.Yes i have my moments of wonting more than other times its no way so my oppinion on this is that the feelings your having are all natural there not because you have made a mistake its your self trying to ajust to the fact that your going to have no more and that to me is a lot for a women to come to terms with.Just remember that a tubal can be reversed if you change your mind later.

I know exactly how you feel. I had one after my second and I went through a depression because I was so sad I did it. However, as time has progressed, I am feeling more comfortable about my decision but when I see other mommies getting pregnant again in our playroom, I get really sad because I wanted to have at least one more but I just look at my two boys and am totally blessed that I at least have them. Good luck and there is always reversal that can be done.

Thanks skyler and samlee, I was out of town so I didn't get to read your replys until tonight. I am so tired of people asking me if were "done" yet. The only reply I can think of is saying "I'm done being pregnant" Lame! I want a good comeback!
