Well, Garrett is constantly getting money all the time from me. So one day he brought up that I never give him an allowance. Well, I told him that I would be glad to give him an allowance but he has to realize that he would have to spend it wisely for a week and under no circumstances would he get any extra money for recreation. Oh, he was excited. So I told him I would give him $20.00 a week. He was like oh man. So, I told him right now, you pretty much don't do anything to help around the house so he would have to start earning his allowance. He would have to wash dishes twice a week, clean his room and keep the kitchen floor mopped. He looked at me like I was crazy. I told him since I was not giving him an allowance before, that I was usually spending about $40-$45 per week on him so I was so glad that he took the initiative to ask me about an allowance. I told him it would cut my cost down each week on his extra curricular activities. So, this taught him a valuable lesson because he did not realize how much I spent on him during the week because he did not physically have the money in hand. Plus he did not have to do anything around the house and he realized that to get an allowance, you have to work for it in my home. So now, he told me that he did not want an allowance and for me to just keep doing it the way I was doing it . Kids, they can be something else.
Lucky is too small and Emily lives with her mom and her mom gives her anything she wants so no we don't. I wouldn't mind giving one to Emily but she is being so spoiled at her moms that we don't want her like that at our house. We do a lot for her though. We do have a savings for her and Ethan gives her money sometimes when she is helping me with Lucky.
