Hey everyone! My name is Gena and I'm 28. I found out I had PCOS about 3 years ago, but my current doctor thinks that I have most likely had it for at least the past eight years. I have been married for going on three years (March will be year 3) and this is the first month we've really actively tried.
I was on birth control for 2 years due to severe bleeding and anemia brought on by AF every month, and finally after 2 years of birth control and off-and-on low carb dieting, I dropped about 40 lbs and I told my OB/GYN that I really wanted to see about getting off the pill and that we were ready to TTC.
I have now been off the pill since April, and have been trying OPKs for MONTHS and until this month did not get any lines at all. AF has been pretty regular the past 3 months or so, after years of no regularity at all. This past month or so, DH and I decided to stop wasting all the money on OPKs and just start trying and making it fun instead of depressing.
I started OPKs again the week before last, mostly for poops and haha's, and actually got a couple of lines. We tried twice in the past week and a half or so and I have been feeling some funny symptoms, but let me add, that I also have a weird digestive issue that my gastro doc has not been able to pinpoint or diagnose, and it causes random nausea all the time, so I cannot truly use that as a symptom. I have however been feeling really tired, had some light stomach cramping, some sporadic lower back pains, and the like.
My best friend is pregnant with baby number two, and keeps telling me that I am... I love her but wish she would quit getting my hopes up when I still can't test for another few days. This past week and a half has been maddening and thankfully I work full-time AND go to school full time or I'd probably have gone crazy by now.
Just wanted to stop by and wish you good luck! If this isn't your month then you could always try charting your basal body temperature. It won't necessarily let you know when you're about to O, but it will confirm when you already have. All it costs is a one time thermometer purchase.
Thanks Bokkechick for my wonderful siggy! TTC Blog
