I have been on Zoloft 25mg for a little over a month and I am feeling great! The past few weeks I have felt better than I have in a while and I'm seeing some major improvement in so many areas. I have also increased my vitamin D and started exercising regularly, so I think those have both had at least a small effect on my mood (along with doing therapy).
At my appointments last week (one with my therapist, one with my doctor) they both asked me if I wanted to increase my dosage since I'm on the lowest possible. My thoughts: I'm seeing improvement, more than I even expected at this point and sure, I have the occasional bad day, but I'm handling things so much better now. Why take more medication than I need to, right? My therapist was kind of pushing for me increase my dose though, and I told her I wanted to hold off for another month and see how I feel. The more I take, the more that could get into my breastmilk (and into my daughter) and the more chance there is for side effects. I'm not one who likes to take medication anyway, so I'd rather take as little as possible.
Are there any advantages to increasing your dosage that I don't know about? Should I just stay where I am since it's helping? My gut says yes, stick with what I have and only increase if I need to, but I want to be sure I'm not making a mistake by doing this.
