Well, once again we were out of power for 7 days!!!! This has been one crazy year. Irene in Sept, and now this snow in Oct.?!?

I know that Conn. still has alot of power outages due to the Halloween SnowStorm. Anyone heard from Nicole?

I haven't talked to her recently, but she posted some pics on Facebook last night. Looks like she's OK!

I'm sorry it's been such a crazy year for you!

Shortly after posting I noticed she was on FB. All of our local news stations are talking about CT so it had me a bit worried.

Yes...this year has sucked! 2 week long power outages that has cost us a ton of money!

We broke down (but after much research) and have ordered a generator that will be directly connected through the house and propane if the power goes out. We put it on our Disney credit card so it'll help 'pay' for our Disney Trip this summer!!! (adds 70 reward dollars!) However we HATE credit card debt and normaly pay it off monthly...but unless we hit the lottery...this purchase will surely set us behind. We just don't want to risk it during the REAL wintery weather that is sure to hit us. I'm tired of losing $300 of food every other month!

(((HUGS)))) We broke down and got a generator ourselves the other year. Power outages suck, that's for sure. But I feel better knowing we have ours.

I totally feel you on the whole having to spend money thing...we also pay off our credit card bills right away and all. And we just had to get our toilet replaced yesterday and are getting our piano moved on Monday as well as having had the van serviced...unfortunately all 3 had to be paid by check (if we didn't have to have FIL take the van in b'c we had to work we could've paid that one by cc) so there went any chance of mileage or gap brand points. But I guess I still have a few more months to rack up mileage points for our next Vegas trip .

I would hate that! I'm glad your power is back on. Yeah, I think a generator will be a good investment for you!
