Abby left about 20 min. ago with my parents. She's staying with them till Tuesday. I got a little teary eyed, but I still have some last-minute trip stuff to take care of to keep me busy. Joshie's staying home w/ Brant; he's got an ear infection. Poor baby. I'm leaving tonight, and I'll be home Thursday afternoon. I really dread being away from the kids so long, but at least Abby's excited about her sleepover, and the kids have a playdate at the beach on Wednesday w/ one of their (distant) cousins. (Ped. says Joshie should be okay for that, as we caught the infection early, and he's on antibiotics.) Josh, of course, has no clue that I'm going to be gone (and for sooo long!) but being that he's such a daddy's boy I'm hoping it won't be too bad.

The ILs have been sooo unhelpful lately... I feel so sorry for Brant. They had promised to help out, as he wanted to get a lot done around the house while I was away, and they had been saying they'd babysit, etc. and kept changing their minds and their plans. And one of Brant's friends was supposed to do some work for us (we were going to help him out since he's between jobs right now but apparently he prefers to go surfing than to actually come here and work and get paid for it)...it's been such a nightmare.

Anyway...I'm sure I'll survive!

Abby had a blast. My dad said it was so quiet after she left. I'm glad it all went smoothly. She used to be so clingy but she has really matured.
