Alyssa loves being read to, she likes picture books rather than story books. We look at books every day and she tries to copy what the baby in them is doing!

Yes, we try...she enjoys Elmo books the best and will let us read the whole thing to her but if it's not Elmo her ability to sit through the whole book is so not there!

We try too, but the patience just isn't there. She will flip through books but way to fast to actually read them to her.

We read throughout the day because she brings books over and it's part of our bedtime routine to read 3-5 books-always ending with Good Night Moon.

I had to put a couple in her toy room we got so sick of them! She loves being read to now and we usually have to every night. She brings them to us and we will read them. She loves this cat book and Nursery Rhyme book. (They are put up right now!!!!) They read at daycare, so she can sit through a short one now.

We usually only get through one or two pages before his attention wavers. I used to love reading with Sarah and James, so I hope he'll enjoy it soon.

Connor wouldn't sit still through a book and always wanted to take it and run like Bebe said, so we ended up giving him one to trash and familiarize himself with. We ended up with two copies of Goodnight Moon as gifts, and now the one we gave him is being held together by quite a bit of duct tape, but he will actually stop and let us read to him now.
For a few pages anyway...

Yes! Ady will sit for 30-45 minutes looking through books. We read to her every night, if not several times a day. She will just sit on Dh's or my lap and listen and look. I started reading to her while I was pregnant-although teaching first grade means I read aloud several times a day anyway. I think it is important to read to kids, even if you think they are not listening. The vocabulary is so much more important than the pictures.

We read three books to Brian before bed. We play with them all day long. He loves the ones with the flaps you can lift. He especially loves to rip the flaps off! We have books all over the house. He will take them out and look through them. The past few weeks he has fallen in love with trains and Thomas, so Thomas books are a huge hit right now. He also get the word books out and we go through them. He loves when there are pics of dogs and cats, since he knows the sounds they make.

Liana loves books. We read several before bed, as well as during the day. She'll grab one of her books and say "book" then sit on your lap. I've read to her since she was little, as have my parents, and everyone is always getting her books. Sometimes she'll have me read one, then she'll take it to dh so he can read it to her. Her current favorites are her new potty book and Dora Valentine flap book.

Chloe loves books, but barely sits still to have them read to her......she will sit still for her bed time ones, but not really throughout the day. We always do the same 3 books for bed time.
