Ever since birth, Connor has had weird poops... Some days he'd go several times a day, and other times he'd go several days without anything. Over the last 3 weeks or so he's grown quite regular though; One big green semi-thick poop a day, roughly at the same time in the afternoon. He's been on breastmilk and formula, with the majority of his meals being breastmilk until last Friday when I had surgery. The color has had me wondering a bit because they're not just green tinged, they're like olive and pine green mixed, but with the little curd lumps from breastmilk in it. He hasn't exhibited any signs of illness or anything, so I figured he just had green poops. (I've read that baby poop can range greatly in color from yellow to brown to green) Switching to straight formula after surgery on Friday has not affected the color or texture at all either.
Then all of a sudden he pooped twice today, once in the morning which was green as usual, and then again this afternoon, but it was completely yellow and slightly more watery! What gives?
Could he have been sick this whole time and the yellow poop is signaling that he's better now, or could it signal that he is getting sick now? I just don't see how the color could change so dramatically without a diet change. I'm going to call his pediatrician tomorrow, but does anyone here have any ideas what may cause this and if it means he's sick or healthy?
Oh, and I took his temperature today and he does not have a fever... I think I took it about a week ago just testing out a new thermometer, and he didn't have one then either.
