Ever since birth, Connor has had weird poops... Some days he'd go several times a day, and other times he'd go several days without anything. Over the last 3 weeks or so he's grown quite regular though; One big green semi-thick poop a day, roughly at the same time in the afternoon. He's been on breastmilk and formula, with the majority of his meals being breastmilk until last Friday when I had surgery. The color has had me wondering a bit because they're not just green tinged, they're like olive and pine green mixed, but with the little curd lumps from breastmilk in it. He hasn't exhibited any signs of illness or anything, so I figured he just had green poops. (I've read that baby poop can range greatly in color from yellow to brown to green) Switching to straight formula after surgery on Friday has not affected the color or texture at all either.

Then all of a sudden he pooped twice today, once in the morning which was green as usual, and then again this afternoon, but it was completely yellow and slightly more watery! What gives?

Could he have been sick this whole time and the yellow poop is signaling that he's better now, or could it signal that he is getting sick now? I just don't see how the color could change so dramatically without a diet change. I'm going to call his pediatrician tomorrow, but does anyone here have any ideas what may cause this and if it means he's sick or healthy?

Oh, and I took his temperature today and he does not have a fever... I think I took it about a week ago just testing out a new thermometer, and he didn't have one then either.

Green isn't colic... I've read in more than a couple places that green can be completely normal. And Connor definitely has no other signs of colic, like the daily crying spells that are mainly associated with it. The fact that he had green poop doesn't really worry me (his pediatrician even said it can be a variety of colors), it's just that it has suddenly changed that's got me wondering why.

Oh, and he pooped again last night, yellow again. That's 3 in a day which is normal for most formula fed babies, but different for him since he's been on a one-poop-per-day schedule for the last few weeks straight. The yellow poop doesn't stink like the green ones did either... I used to be able to just pick him up and smell his butt to see if he needs changing, but these ones just don't really stink at all. Weird.
