I've moved since we had our last baby so now I'm trying to find a new dr or midwife, I've narrowed it down to three can you give me you opinions, all these places are 30 minutes to and hour away from my house.

List of Services This one I'm not sure since it is mostly a male practice, I prefer a female dr, but its also closest to home.

The Greenhouse Birth Center ~ Where families are born, gently.

I would love this place the only thing is it's the farthest away and not sure if my insurance will cover it.

Women First

This place looks like it would be good, it's about 45 minutes away, and it sounds like I would see the midwives most of the time.

The first one is out.

I just love my midwives. I had all female doctors with my four kids but I liked the midwives the best.

I really like the 2nd choice. The greenhouse birth center. It seemed more relaxed and comfortable and more intone to you and your baby.

My second choice would be the 1st once and then the 3rd one.

Good luck!!

From just reading that I would definitely be drawn to the Greenhouse place...I think the first one would be my "only if nothing else was available" choice. I just don't like how the first thing they have is a list of rules laid out on what they allow or not. Doesn't look like you'd have much room for your own birth plan.
Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for the input girls. I think I'll go check both of them out in person if that is possible for the one place.

here is some info I have posted on the NCB board that you should find helpful

Choosing your place of Birth (Choosing your place of birth)

Choosing your caregiver (Choosing a Caregiver)

good luck!

eta: glancing at the first option, that is a "birth center" only in name. Attended by nurses and options for epidurals, that isn't a traditional birthing center. Hospitals are starting to open these, and while they are much more comfortable than a regular L&D (and private) you are still going to have the same mentality. I'm not sure what kind of birth you are interested in.

Where in Texas are you?

Thank you for those resources, I'll definitely look at them.

I'm not in Texas, I'm in Michigan.
