I usually don't drink too many drinks with caffeine in them. The main thing is my coffee!!! I might have a sip or two.

not totally - i still have one cup of coffee in the morning but that's it - that's what i did with DS as well. My doc's said it was ok just don't go over board try to limit the intake. They suggest for pregnant women to have less than 3 5oz servings of coffee or equivallent caffineen intake a day.

I'm giving it up for the 1st trimester...but I'm sure I'll get the occasional frap at Starbucks after that, just as a treat.

I gave it up completely...and quit cold turkey...which was not the best idea. I felt awful for about 4 days. I had a pounding headache and even had flu-like symptoms. I did research and found that that was common for someone who drank as much caffeine as I had been.

Now that I've quit, I feel much better overall. I was drinking 2 huge starbucks coffees in the morning...a diet coke or 2 throughout the day...and then usually a rockstar energy drink in the afternoon. Crazy!

I'm sure I'll go back to my Starbucks afterwards.

They say that 200mg of caffeine in pregnancy is safe. Like Lindsay I could not quit with either of my kids to headaches were just to much to for me.

I switched to decaf tea and decaf coffee for the first week after I found out. Then for some reason it just didn't appeal to me anymore and I haven't had any decaf (let alone caffeinated drinks) since.

I used to love having a cup of coffee in the morning and a tea in the evening....but with no appetite and a queasy tummy, even that doesn't sound good anymore

I don't drink nearly as much as I did, like about 4 cups of coffee a day, but it makes me feel sick, so I might occasionally have one cup of coffee

I'm down to about 1/2 c coffee in the morning and maybe a soda in the afternoon. With Kyla, I didn't have ANY caffeine though. I'm not sure why I'm not quite able to have that level of committment with this one

Not completely but I find that I don't want as much as I do when I'm not pregnant. I used to have a cup of coffee every morning and now I might have one once a week or so.

Yes I gave it up completely. I switched to decaf, though I expect in a week or 2 even the thought of coffee will make me sick, if this pg is anything like with Julia.

I have given it up completely, I know that some in moderation is supposedly OK, but I'm using the pregnancy as a motivator to break the habit.

I switched to decaf!! I really like a frozen latte every now and again from starbucks, and a cup of coffee or tea in the morning but I just switched to decaf easy enough!! I never drank any pop so no worries there!

I lost the taste for coffee. I have a few cups of black tea during the day and chamomille or mint at night.

I have a few sips here and there, but I have given it up. I don't find it hard during pregnancy, I didn't with DS anyway... but this time I hope to continue with limiting my caffiene after the baby arrives.. Although with two under two, i might need some to keep up! LOL...

It's funny you mention that. With DS I didn't make any changes - I was only drinking one to two caffeinated sodas a day and since the doc gave the okay I kept with it. But, after I went back to work I found the need to up my intake - 2 cups of coffee & 3-4 caffeinated sodas a day! Since finding out, I've managed to cut down to 1-2 drinks a day, but I'm definitely finding myself really dragging at times & getting headaches...guess this is the perfect excuse to break my addiction.

I quit cold-turkey. Then I had about 5 days of migraine headaches that finally stopped after I pretty much 'slept' them off!

I still drink a cup of coffee and a pop once every day or every couple days. I did the same with DS and he turned out just fine.

Ya know, I quit drinking caffeine almost 2 years ago. Instead of "quiting" pop, I decided to drink more water. Not drinking Pepsi anymore just sort of happened! And I was REALLY fortunate that I didn't have too much withdrawal. I drank enough Pepsi that I should have had major withdrawal!

I don't drink coffee and rarely drink tea. So, for the last couple years, it's been water, milk, juice, then the good stuff - wine, beer, liquor, etc. So, all I had to do is stop the drinking, which hasn't been too hard.
