I am now measuring 5 days bigger at my u/s. I know when we got pregnant because we had an iui. I have one son that was almost 9 lbs. Should I expect this baby to also be a large boy? Or, is it too early to tell? Anyone had a big baby girl?? I am small, and my husband is large. So, I'm guessing boys will be big and if we ever have girls, they will be small.

Size and gender do not correlate. Both my kids were 6lbs 15oz and they are boy and girl. I think the woman determines the size. You can be measuring bigger or smaller, u/s is not that accurate IMO. So you could be further along, or whatnot. Babies grow at different rates.

growth could depend on a lot of factors: baby growth spurts, implantation dates, gestational diabetes (a bit early to tell maybe), and genetics. i wouldnt worry about the size of your precious one though. in most circumstances your body will not make a bigger baby than you can carry. its nice to know your baby is growing strong!

I've had babies ranging from 7lbs 3oz to 9lbs 8oz. I agree with everyone above, not a predictor of gender.

all babies grow at their own pace. Everything most likely will even out.
