I am 7 wks 2d and have been having spotting since week 4. the spotting comes and goes, mainly while Im at work. Im not having any cramps or anything so Im not to scared just confused. My doctor just tells me the pregnancy prob isnt viable, so he draws blood and my level has gone from 4.6 wks 57, 5.5 329 and 6.2 709... my last hcg didnt double and he said thats ok. Im just wondering if anyone else has had spotting?

yes i have but then i had bleeding all through my pregnancy with kara.
spotting does not always mean bad news and i really hate it when doctors say "probably isnt viable" because unless there is serious clear issues, they just can not possibly know that!
i was told with kara that i was to have an op to remove her and the one that attatched to my ovary because they were not going to survive. 2 days later another U/S showed the one in my uterus had split into 2!
ok i lost one but i still have my baby girl and if it was up the them i wouldnt have!
(ok off my soap box now but that really gets to me!)
it could just be that you have been over doing things or even standing too long can cause changes in your body that causes it.
spotting and bleeding in pregnancy is becoming more and more common.
xx

madmum_sarah, Thank you for your response. Im so paranoid about having a misscarriage since I have been diagnosed with unexplianed infertility for the last 15 years and then 2 yrs ago I had a misscarriage before I even knew I was pregnant. If it were not for the horrible pain I would have never known at all. I think my levels are kind of low for how far along im supposed to be but I keep praying my baby will stick with me this time.

3 days ago I had spotting with bright red blood. I'm not sure I'd even call it spotting; it was almost light a like period, although it was not enough to fill a panty liner and went away after 3 hours. 3 days later it has not come back and I have m/s as bad as ever, so I think I'm ok. I asked my mom and she said she had similar spotting when she was pregnant with me.

I had spotting at 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 wks. Freaked out. It started a peachy brown color, next day was light pink, the following day was bright red, but it was always very light and only there when I wiped with TP. I scared myself to death reading all these miscarriage stories on the internet. Deep down I was preparing myself for bad news, but to my suprise the 6 1/2 week ultrasound showed a heartbeat! 8 week ultrasound had a strong heartbeat and was right on target. It was probably just cervical bleeding.

So hang in there, there are several causes for spotting in early pregnancy so it doesn't necessarily mean it is bad.

Guess my spotting issues have a diagnosis now... went to the er lastnight and after 10 hours they told me they couldnt find anything on the ultrasound and believe its a ectopic. I have no pain and my bleeding has stopped but i have to go for another ultrasound on monday and if they still dont see anything I have to have surgery to look in my tubes. Im so heartbroken, I dont know how to react. Could they be wrong?

Oh I'm so sorry. You know it IS possible that they are wrong. You are in my prayers for Monday's ultrasound. Hopefully they'll find the little bean in your uterus!

Uterus is still empty and surgery is set for Friday afternoon. My levels keep doubling and they said it looks more like a cyst than anything in my right ovary but the docs figure it has to be my lil bean in there since he is not in my uterus. This is the second loss for us in 2 years and it is just killing my poor DH, I heard him crying when he tought I was asleep and it just tore me up. He is trying to be strong for me so he wont let me see his pain.
