Is anyone else having a hard time getting through the work day? I feel horrible, and since my job is so high energy (elementary teacher) I am feeling terribly guilty that I am not being my usual chipper self. My work is stacking up, and I have no motivation. Boo.
Feeling so nauseated today. I'm happy about that in a way, but don't know how I'm going to make it through this week! I was hovering over the toilet here at school twice.
Good luck to all you workin' mamas! (SAHM's, my hat is OFF! I could not do what you are doing!)

I feel your pain. I'm a kindergarten teacher. Thankfully I'm not actually throwing up because I have no way to leave my classroom to do it. I've been wearing acupressure wristbands to help with the nausea.

I am so thankful I am not a teacher right now. I shut the door to my office last week and laid down in the floor because I was so nauseous and actually fell asleep! How embarrassing! Luckily nobody saw!

(((Hugs))) I am a sahm at the moment so I can only sympathize with your pain. I hope you are feeling better soon. I have been so tired I can totally see how you are having a hard time getting through the day.

I am also a teacher. I have found that I am much shorter with my kids and by the end of the day I don't even care what they are doing. I know its terrible. I just have no energy either.
How did women survive on farms when they were pregnant? I can't even imagine.

I feel the same way. I was pregnant this time last year and it was so hard to make it through the week - plus it's our busy time so I am expected to work late and work lots of overtime. I can barely survive. My emotions are getting to the best of me...
HUGS!!!!!!!! You are far from alone!

I feel exactly the same. Just want to go home and crawl into bed. And when I'm done work I still have to deal with the 3 kids at home, make dinner, do homework, get them ready for the next day. By the time 9pm comes around I am beat and sick. Forget DH having any ideas of 'fun'. Not until the 2nd trimester.

I am finding it hard to concentrate 1) I'm tired, 2) my boobs constantly hurt, 3) the cramps, 4) I have to pee all the time and 5) I can't get myself off this site or researching pregnancy on the web!
haha!

I'm a SAHM and I think you girls have it worse! I tried to continue working during my first pregnancy (thinking I would be okay after the 1st trimester) but ended up quitting around 14 weeks. I just couldn't handle feeling like crap in public. At least when I'm at home I don't have to put real clothes on and pretend everything is great. I hope you start feeling better soon, I imagine that working with children all day you don't get much of a break.

I work at Starbucks and have to stand for 8 hours a day. I'm so tired by the time I get home I just want to sleep.

*HUGS* to all you working moms! I remember those days when I was pregnant with DS and then with DD and working. It is really hard to function! I remember crashing by 8pm every night as soon as DS was in bed. I used to work 12 hr. days some days, and those were killer. Hang in there! I promise around the 12 wk. mark, you'll start having more energy again, at least until around 7 months or so.

Thanks, everyone. It always helps to know that you aren't alone in your struggles!
Big bonus to being a teacher though: A two week break, starting after school on Friday! :-) I can't wait!

We own a landscaping business so all I do is the accounting/marketing portion. But since it's winter, we also work as delivery drivers for a Chinese restaurant in the evening. Since that is busier, we've been asked to work 10hr all day shifts. Those are killer! Smelling food while in the restaurant, and then driving in a car the rest of the time is not easy when nauseous. I finally bought acupressure bands yesterday, which have helped some. But then I woke up with a scratchy throat since everyone in my family has had colds. Luckily I don't seem to have the chest cold and am the best out of all of them. Though I am more tired than usual....I'm deciding if I'll feel up to completing my last semester in college next sem. I'm a biology major and 4 hr labs doesn't seem like fun with morning sickness.

I feel your pain girls!! As my day job I work in the Engineering dept. of a biz jet seat manufacturer...but due to staff reductions, they have me sitting at the front desk, so EVERYONE walks past me and I have to answer the phone all day while trying to concentrate both on my engineering work and trying not be sick and cranky. Thankfully MOST of my nausea so far has been at night, but of course, then I'm crabby to my family and that's no fun either. VERY much looking forward to feeling better!
