So I had a doc appt last night, and was a little shocked to see that I've gained 7 pounds since my last visit 4 weeks ago! Yikes! That puts me up to 12 pounds total. I had only gained 5 pounds from conception to 18 weeks, & now I'm packing it on! UGH!

I will admit my diet hasn't been that healthy, but I don't think it's HORRIBLE, kwim? And I do the walk away the pounds 2 mile tape every other day so I am getting some exercise in! My doc didn't seem concerned, he didn't even mention the weight gain so I guess I'm still okay but geez louise 7 pounds in 4 weeks!?!?!?!?!?! I guess I need to have a talk with this unborn child... NO MORE ICE CREAM, lol!

You're doing much better than me! I think I've put on at least 20 pounds so far. I'm so not looking forward to being weighed at my appointment on Monday.

I think since I had lost so much weight right before I got pregnant I've kind of been using this as an excuse to take some time off and indulge. Unfortunately I've been indulging way too much

I just try to keep in mind that this is the time when you really are growing a lot (between 4 and 6 months). I've always gained the most at this time in pregnancy. I only gained 3 pounds my whole first trimester and I'm now up 15 in all. I think the "in all" is mostly what they look at, not what you gain from week to week. Don't stress. :-)

I think you are right on track with a 12lb weight gain! If you keep roughly on the same "pace", it will only put you at about 25-30 lbs total which I think is perfect!

(Just wanted to say I suddenly also gained a lot like you between one appointment and the next....but now I haven't gained that quickly in the last 2 weeks so I think it all evens out).

2 weeks ago I went in on a Monday then on Friday and they said I gained 4 lbs in 3-4 days lol I still throw up and have aversions so I though it was strange. I'm on the thin side and our family is always outdoors and very active so I don't really care..

I am right there with you. I gained very little at first, but then at my last appointment I had gained 9 pounds in just 4 weeks. Yikes!

I am in a similar boat...but my MD made me feel like I gained 50 pounds! I guess she was afraid of the rate these past few months. I'm going to try to eat healthier though...I'm kinda worried about the GTT coming up next appointment! I've only gained 13 pounds so far but I've been eating sugar 24-7.

It's got to be the stage we're at because this is exactly what happened to me. I was barely gaining weight and the *BAM!!* 6 lbs in 4 weeks. The midwife told me this is normal for there to be a sudden gain during these times of 'growth spurts' but that I should be cognizant of what I am eating. I've gained 12lbs to date but she still has me on target for 30 -- but my body has 60 in mind like with my girls.

It doesn't help that I finished off a whole box of cereal and gallon of ice cream in 2 days by myself. I'm definitely in need to a diet check; especially in the sweets department!

I've gained about 18 and I'm nearly 23 weeks. My dr. always freaks at my weight...always. I've gotten to the point where I know what I'm doing is okay and screw what she says. Seriously, I gained 65 with DD#1, lost 35 of it out of the hospital and the remainder over the first year. I'm on track to gain 35 - 40 with DD#2 and that's fine with me - I feel that 25+ lbs less is a success!
If your dr didn't mention anything, then I really wouldn't worry. Just watch what you eat and you'll be fine!

It's normally to have gained between 10 to 15 lbs at this point. I wouldn't stress about it, especially if your doctor doesn't seem concerned.
