Ok, I'm fairly certain i'm having heart palpitations. I know that they can be brought on by pregnancy and are usually harmless. I also know all the other reasons you can have palpitations, darn nursing school! Oh what i'd give to be blissfully ignorant again

I'll just be sitting there and suddenly my heart is racing like i just ran a sprint, i can feel it pounding all the way up through my throat and in my head. I don't have pain in my chest but it does feel weird, like when you hold your breath for too long. A few times it felt like my heard literally flip flopped. The only thing that concerns me is they seem to last a while, sometimes a few minutes.

I know what other symptoms to look out for that could be serious so do you think i'd be ok to wait for my appointment in 2 wks to be seen or should i call tomorrow?

I should also mention that my BP is fine, well, fine for me anyway (140/80)

I would give a call and let them decide if they want you in sooner. I'm guessing they will.

I would probably call just for peace of mind.

Could it be an anxiety attack? I would call. 2 weeks is a long time to wait. Unless you find that tomorrow everything is back to normal.

Sigh, I've been having the SAME thing. I have an appointment in a week, and thought that I would just wait until then. My Dr. told me that he would recommend me to a heart specialist if I had anymore problems. Then they'll hook me up to a monitor, so it's not like anything would be "fixed" as soon as you went, anyway. Like everyone else said, I would call and get an opinion.

I honestly don't feel like it's anything life threatening at this point, though. I've had major anxiety attacks in the past, and this just doesn't feel the same. Like you said, it's more of a "flip flop". Like a thud. IDK. I just don't like it. I'm with you. Please update and let us all know how it goes! I'll be thinking of you.

I had this happen to me the other night. I just laid on my left side while I watched TV and hoped it went away. It did, but it was really scary for awhile there. Why does this happen? ugh.

I would call. They had me see an endo during my last pregnancy and they said if it lasted more than a minute it could be a big problem so to keep track of frequency and duration.

Not trying to diagnose you over the internet, but what happened to me was that I was having what I thought were heart palpitations...but my heart activity was normal. Turns out...it's baby kicking upward. Talk about embarassing...lol!

I have been seeing a cardiologist for this, he said I have tachycardia. I would call and schedule an appoinment sooner. It is pregnancy induced

I would call as well. Your doctor may decide to just wait the 2 weeks, but really I would let him/her determine that one.
