Sorry if this has already been posted before, but what brand of diapers are you planning on going with??? Are you all waiting til the baby comes, or stocking up on some diapers here & there?
Babies R Us is having a promotion this Saturday. For every 2 value boxes of diapers you buy, you will get a $20 gift card, but the brand is pampers! So I was thinking this could be a great way to start buying for baby?

im going to be taking advantage of that sale now that you let me know about it lol. With DD I used pampers so I think I will start off with the same and when he/she is born see how he/she does with it. DD started with huggies, then pampers, and ended with walmart brand cuz thats the only kind that worked for her with no leaks

The hospital requires that we use Pampers Swaddlers while we're there, but after we get home we'll be using Huggies. All of mine have reacted badly to Pampers diapers and developed horrible rashes so we're just jumping straight to the safety.

I really like the pampers for the newborn stage. After that, I just use the Kirkland brand from CostCo because I get them for cheaper and they are just as good as any name brand.

^^That really annoys me about your hospital. They shouldn't have any say on what diapers you use if they aren't going to furnish them.
We'll probably use Parents Choice as long as they work for this one. I won't be stocking up because you never know how they will fit. We did that with Kayla and had to return several packages.
I'll probably just buy a package of newborn Pampers Swaddlers and newborn Parents Choice just so we'll have an alternative.

we are planning to cloth diaper, so we will start buying those in the near future but we will probably get a few packs of new born disposable diapers for the hospital, im not really picky about what type, but i wont be buying any until much later, which ever is on sale.

I love Pampers because they are soft, stretchy, and smell amazing, but we use Huggies because for the same price you get more diapers. No Name diapers didn't work for my daughter (too many rashes and leaks), so I won't even try them with Nathan.

I only use Pampers Swaddlers while nursing (those nursing poops are so runny!) . I found an amazing place to buy them from - .17/diaper! Once they are on solids I use Huggies during the day but Pampers at night.

Definately Pampers. Those are the only ones that didn't leak for my daughter and my son.
If Pampers don't work for this baby, then we will try a different brand....more than likely Huggies.

Lil Joey's and Bum Genius
If I need disposables, then Pampers Swaddlers.

They do provide the diapers that we use while there as well as wipes, ointment, alcohol for the belly button, pacifiers, etc. The only thing you actually need to take is a coming home outfit. I asked about the diapers when my DS was in the hospital and they require that everybody use the same type of diaper because they know the weight of that brand so if they're monitoring a baby's (or small child's) output they don't have to weigh each diaper while it's still dry. They do make exceptions though if a problem develops or they're a preemie or what have you. It'll only be one night so I'm not worried about it. Usually the rash begins to develop after about a week so it's gradual. Horrible, blistery, raw, disgusting, but gradual.

With my first son, Huggies were the ONLY brand that didn't leak on him. My second son did much better in Pampers, and my third son we could do Pampers or Luvs but Huggies leaked. I tried the "White Cloud" from Walmart with my second son and they were AWFUL...papery and stiff and they leaked BAD.
We talked about cloth diapering, but decided to just go with disposables...so I'll probably end up getting a couple packages of Pampers, and then we'll see from there what fits. We will make sure to keep receipts and stuff though, in case one brand doesn't fit, we can return/exchange any unopened packages.

I've always used Pampers. Huggies leaked and they would also make these jelly curdles whenever the diaper was wet. Didn't like them at all.
I don't think I'll be stocking up, but probably buy a few newborn sizes when the time gets close.

The hospital provides diapers while we're there so I always end up using the same ones.......Pampers Swaddlers. Then after the newborn stage it's whatever is on sale, Pampers or Huggies. Sometimes I will buy Luvs......if I remember right they are made by Pampers and are pretty much the same as the regular Pampers. With the regular Pampers I have found sometimes the sides that have the tape come off when you are trying to put the diaper on.

I'll be using cloth, hopefully starting while I'm in the hospital.
In the past, I've used Pamper swaddlers for the first 2 months or so, and then I used whatever was on sale and/or the Up and Up brand from Target.

i realize each baby leaks/ reacts differently to each brand, but if all goes well I plan to use Huggies.

Growing up we were always a Huggies family, but man did I love Pampers with Jacob. That is of course until he got to the crawling/moving stage and developed a rash from all diapers. I know have to buy him chlorine free diapers. We're actually using the Huggies Pure and Natural ones right now. I like them, but of course they're a little more expensive than the regular ones. I'm hoping we will be able to use the Kirkland brand again, because like Carrie I liked them and they are well priced.
