We are both converts. DH converted about 18 years ago though and I've still got a long way to go. The city always gets a petition together from locals to ban it as a religious site, though they'll usually allow a church or something to go in later. The one neighboring city has to rent a conference center in a hotel to hold prayer, they can't even get an okay beyond that. It's really ridiculous out here. There was a Muslim family down the street from us that moved, but they were very secretive about it and very few Americans know. You see very, very few open Muslims here, but DH used to teach Sunday school at the community center so he knows it's actually a decent sized population.

Anna, I'm sorry to hear about your situation... I do want to say however, that I love the last two names you've picked there - Samantha and Odelia. I can't name our daughter (if it is a daughter) Samantha because I used to have a cat with that name LOL but I love it... Sam for short, so cute! And Odelia is just beautiful, it sounds like an exotic, beautiful woman - definitely a wonderful name for a little girl to grow up with.

I hope you get the name picked soon!

I'm really sorry to hear of all of this and very disappointed in our fellow Americans and your local government. If you ever need someone to talk to about things or vent at I'm here anytime. Your family is in our prayers!
