So, I've been having a hard time sleeping and getting comfortable in bed so Ive used pillows to help, well now, when Im on my side my legs and hips ache, even with a nice pillow between them. I will try my other said and the way I lay leans on my belly so it makes it hard to breath. I cant lay on my back since my lower back has been killing me for over a month. I woke up this morning in so much pain from my back. It's just awful. Ive talked to my OB and she told me to try heat/cold alternating, warm bath, pillow...ect..and nothing helps. I almost feel stiff in my back when I wake up, and now been up for almost an hour and Im still having an achy pain. Anyone else dealing with this? I never had this until about 38 weeks with DD, and then I just slept in the recliner since that was the only way to keep my back from hurting.

When I HAVE to sleep on my back, I use the boppy pillow right at my bum, so my thighs are elevated a little and if possible, 2 pillows under my knees so my legs are up. I don't sleep well on my back, which is why I lay on my tummy and with one leg bent upwards and my knee is around where my belly button is... then I kinda just lean on it. Much more comfy that way for me.
I hope you can find some relief soon!

I had lots of hip and back pain with my last pregnancy and sleeping in my recliner actually helped. And its sad to say that I spent a lot of time in the hospital with that pregnancy and I got some of my best sleep in the hospital bed.

Yeah, I have a hard time sleeping too. Sleeping in a bed is out, so I've been on the couch. I can't sleep on my back b/c my heart starts racing and I have a hard time breathing. The right side is out b/c one of the tumors has shifted there and it's uncomfy. My left is ok, but that's where the baby is. Whenever I'm on the left side, he starts wiggling and it makes me think I'm hurting him. So I just try one of the other uncomfy positions. I'm going to ask the dr on Thursday if I'm hurting the baby or not b/c I really need some sleep.

I had a lot of hip/leg pain with Ethan, but we got a new mattress in September & I haven't had nearly the hip/leg pain this time. Could it be that your mattress is a bit uncomfy?

Could you try getting a massage? You sound like you are all tensed up. I would get a massage and keep up with the warm compresses. I used and use a heating pad on my back and that works wonders for me. Hope you get some relief.

I toss and turn all through the night b/c my left leg does some crazy stuff. I think the baby is sitting on my sciatic nerve..

Luckily I'm not having much pain but we have an expensive pillowtop mattress that you sink in..I use a pillow behind my back and a boppy under my belly and between my legs.

During the day is when I hurt..sitting straight up/down in an office chair. I feel Caleb's head is stuck under my ribs right now. It sucks! I hope you can get some relief soon...in a few more weeks I'll probably go to the recliner..sleeping in it is the only way to go at a certain point in my pregnancies.

I am having a hard time sleeing too...like you, i wake up & my back hurts so bad it actually takes me 10 min's to get out of bed...but, i have found that when sleeping sitting up, i sleep great and have no pain when i wake up. Our mattress is up against the wall & in a corner...so i prop some pillows behind my back and one behind my head & i sleep like a baby! I also then dont wake up with my arm numb from carpal tunnel, either. On my days off, when df is asleep for the night, i often sleep in his chair.

I've been very uncomfortable lately too. Hip pain, back pain, leg cramps, foot cramps...you name it. It's nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. I have a new pillowtop mattress & I use a full-size pregnancy pillow, and I'm still uncomfortable.
