I've been having a really awful time with sciatica. I went to my doctor today and got a script for pain medicine, and she told me to get a maternity belt to help take some of the pressure off of my back. Does anyone have one? Does it really help?

I really think I need to look into buying one but Im not having back pain. Will it still help with pressure? Its down low.

I have one, I thought it would help with my pelvic pain but it really doesn't. It helps to make my belly feel it's not stretching out so much during the day. But it's kind of weird sometimes, I feel like I'm squishing her. I know that sounds odd....

I have one of the back supporters they sell at Motherhood, and I freaking love that thing. I did a whole rooms worth of painting wearing mine and my back barely hurt afterwards.

I have one! I just got it from Motherhood maternity. It's white and stretchy and has velcro closures so you can adjust the support. Mine is just the single one that goes around your back and then sits down under your belly.

I'm not sure if this type would help with sciatica. I guess it depends on where exactly the nerve is getting pinched. I got mine for extra running support and it does help my belly feel a bit lighter.

My last pregnancy I got the one from BRU and it really did help with my sciatica and back pain. It seemed to better distribute the weight of my belly.

I used one for back and hip pain in my last pregnancy, and it helped on long days out of the house and days where I had lots of house work to do.

I say this a lot... but would also highly recommend a chiro who is well versed in prenatal chiropractic care
