I know there are several of you are are maintaining a good exercise regimen. For those of you who are low to moderately active, how is your body responding to walking? I have been wearing a pedometer (free gift) to see how many steps I've been taking a day. Today I walked to the park with the girls and I have been cramping ever since. Total steps = 3900 for the day which is probably the most I've taken in a couple weeks.
Anyone else get really crampy from just walking? Baby feels really low and my uterus really tight. Boy, it feels so early to have these complaints...

I havent been doing any reg exercising, but I cannot walk much with out feeling a lot of pressure and cramping. I have been carrying this baby low and the other day I went grocery shopping which usually takes about 1- 1/2 hours depending on how good my DD is..lol..and I was hurting for the rest of the day. I was walking funny, and just needed to sit. I carried my DD high and never had this problem until maybe the last 2 weeks pregnant with her.
My DH and I are planning a trip to the zoo with DD before the baby is born, and I think we are going to go the 1st week in April, when it will still be cooler temp. I just hope I can handle the walking .

Whenever I walk, I always start out at a steady pace and as I walk, my speed gets slower and slower...and I always end up with a cramp in the same spot on my belly.
I really need to do some yoga and stretching...my body is so creaky and crampy, I feel like an old woman!

I dont do any exercise. If I walk for to long or stand I feel alot of pressure down low. Saturday Dh built a dog pen for our little dog to go to the bathroom and I was hurting form being outside all day and walking back and forth getting the tape measure, pen, level etc. Normally I would be right in there with him nailing or cutting boards but I could not hardly do anything. I felt useless. I cant clean all day either.... to much. Sometime I just feel plain lazy!

I'm like Daffodil. I'll start out with a brisk walk/slow jog and by the end of my 2.5 miles I'm going soooo slow because the cramping/ache starts. Before pregnancy, I ran and often, at the beginning of the pregnancy I was still running and felt great. Now I can't even walk 2.5 miles without the cramping and my pelvic bone pain. I really want to keep walking though as to not gain the same 50 lbs. I did with my first pregnancy!
I do wear my maternity support belt when I jog/walk. It seems to help just a bit.

I have been doing some moderate exercise (yoga and workout videos, stationary bike and weights at the gym) and it is actually walking around town that bothers me the most. I definitely start to cramp up and feel really tight. I also have been carrying really low.

I'm not an avid exerciser by any means - I work from home and about the most exercise I get is walking up and down the stairs 80 times a day to let the dog in or out, grab something from the fridge or make a potty trip.
When I do get out to do groceries, or other kinds of shopping, I find that I'm definitely going slower...And after a full round of errands that take a few hours, I feel pretty worn out and in need of rest. But, I haven't found it entirely shutting me down. I think that I still have enough in me to do what has to be done.
What does get to me is that my flexibility is not what it used to be. It bothers me not being able to stand straight up out of a comfy chair or from a position of lying down, or that I have to contort my body weirdly to pick up something from the floor. That's the kind of thing that makes me crazy.

Be sure to drink lots of H2o while working out! My works outs are silly: we go to the zoo a couple of times a week and walk. I take two breaks around the park to watch the gorillas get their snack, and to watch the elephants get their feet cleaned. At the very end it's playground time. On cold/rainy days, I go walk around Ikea. I was able to actually go to the gym to work out every day during my pregnancy with Nevaeh. I would do warm up yoga, swim laps for an hour, then work out on the elliptical for about 30-45 minutes. I did that every day, but still walking was the one that was the most challenging!
I am crampy all the time as it is... but sometimes exercise can aggravate things a bit. We just have to be careful not to over-do things and take more breaks than we are used to... also have good warm ups and cool downs.

For a start I can barely walk any where. I just can't do it, which sucks, I used to be able to walk quite far, but it does cause a lot of tightening and cramps. but I do remember this from my other pregnancies.
