I had awful heartburn with DD and was on prescription meds for it since it was so bad and nothing OTC would help. She was born bald and didnt get hair till she was 2, and now she just turned 3 and its now to her ears

I totally believe this. I never had heartburn with my son, and he same out with just I guess what you would call an average amount of hair. I about died of heartburn with my daughter, and she came out with tons of thick, black hair. I'm thinking this one's going to be the same, too, because I've had it REALLY bad for a while now.

I totally don't believe this. I had NO heartburn with my son and he came out with hair down past his ears - he had to have his first hair cut at 5 weeks old and had about 30 hair cuts in the first year (about every 3-5 weeks).

Even weirder so is that I was on medication before I got pregnant with DS for heartburn so I thought I would be in for it for sure!!

The study, published in the current issue of the journal Birth, followed 64 pregnant women, about 78 percent of whom reported having some heartburn. After the women gave birth, two outside observers looked at pictures of their infants and rated their levels of hair.

Of the 28 women who reported moderate to severe heartburn, 23 had babies with average or above-average amounts of hair. Conversely, 10 of the 12 women who reported no heartburn had babies with little or no hair.

Other studies have shown that in pregnant women, high levels of estrogen and other hormones can relax the sphincter at the bottom of the esophagus, causing heartburn. The same hormones, other studies show, can influence fetal hair growth.
23/28 with moderate to severe heartburn sufferers had babies with lots of hair.
10/12 non-heartburn sufferers had babies with little or no hair.

So really, it's not 100% going to happen; but odds are... and that I can believe.

I had horrid heartburn with daughter and she came out with lots of hair
