I got my first bad leg cramp in the night last night. The muscle is still sore this morning Anyone else getting leg cramps yet? or at all? I get them with all my pg's, especially in my 'bad' leg, and thats the leg last nights was in. They are so intensely painful!

yes, I've gotten a few now...usually only when I'm in bed! I've also been getting a cramp in the arch of my foot....OOOOOWWWW!! I'm trying to eat a banana every day because the potassium is supposed to keep the muscles from cramping...doesn't always work, but I'll try anything!

Popping in from the August DDC to say that this happened to me last night! Is this a common pregnancy thing? I woke up with the WORST leg cramp in my calf. I could still kind of feel it when I started walking around this morning.

Yep, I get them too. They take a long time to go away too. I try massaging, but the only thing that works is walking and stretching and it takes me forever to wear it off. Sometimes I think I am good and go back to bed and it comes back...soo frustrating! If bananas work, I will go buy a bunch tonight!

Yes, I get them in my calves too. They wake me up, and I jump out of bed. And they take a long time to go away...sometimes my calves are sore for a few days. I never had them during my first pregnancy. I eat bananas every day and it's not helping.

It can be common yes, but not everyone gets them. They are very painful and irritating to get but they wont hurt you. Mine hurt for about 30 minutes after I was up and walking this morning.

if you like prunes, they have more potassium than bananas even.

I had a charly horse on Friday last week while laying in bed. I had a pedicure for the wedding on that Saturday and the lady massaged my arch and thigh so I thought that was it but I have been eating half or a whole banana a day as advised by the bride's mother last week! I have such bad luck with my toes and arches that it sometimes travels to my calves.

I haven't gotten one yet, but I am just waiting on it. I know staying well hydrated keeps them at bay as well as potassium. I just try to drink a lot of water and hope I don't get them. I only had one when i was preg with DD and it was a BAD one. It hurt for days after. Very very painful.

I've heard it's either calcium or potassium. Your muscles need both to work, so maybe lack of calcium for those that eat a lot of potassium....???

Its weird because my potassium is actually low, but I haven't had any leg cramps yet (thank God!) I had them bad with my first pregnancy though. Sorry to everyone who is having them, they are no fun
