I know this is dumb but...

I have become a diaper bag obsessed mama! I found Petunia Pickle Bottom bags and LOVE them (they are cute and work extremely well)!!! They are pricey but I got two (crosstown clutch and a downtown (I think that is what it is called) for cheap on their outlet sales. Well, I really want a boxy backpack since we are having another - at least that is my excuse. But I was wondering if I should go gender neutral with the bag (I have a DD right now and won't find out the sex of this one until 3/30) or is it okay to get a girly looking one since the bag is what I will be carrying? I am not even sure what pattern I want yet but is it weird to have a boy with a girly looking diaper bag?

I got a unisex diaper bag before I found out what I was having. Mine is a Kalencom that is white with pink, blue, yellow, green etc polka dots. It looks kinda girly, but had enough boy colors just in case. I think you should get whatever you want. I don't think the baby will care what it looks like as long as it has a clean diaper and full belly!!!

I don't think it really matters. I bought a used PPB on Craigslist and it's somewhat boyish (blue and a light tan) but I won't be changing it if we have a girl.

Those are really cute! I think I would go with one that you like. They don't look like diaper bags to me so I really wouldn't be worried about using boy or girl colors.

Oh, I've never heard of those. I'm going to have to check them out. I'm kind of lazy with diaper bags over here and bad about just stashing emergency diapers and travel wipes in my glove box of my car. I usually use them for a little while, but then get lazier and lazier about it.

I keep looking because I am cheap..lol I keep looking on ebay and just checking places for sales. I just am having a hard time with paying more then 20.00-30.00. But I think I am going to get a Vera Bradley that way I can use it for my laptop afterwards.

So weird that you mentioned the petunia picklebottom backpack, I have been eyeing those for MONTHS now. If you watch babysteals.com they sometimes have them on there but sell out within minutes (which is why I've never snagged one).

I initially got a very plain and neutral (brown and orange) bag that I knew DH would hold and not freak out about. But for this baby I think I will get something pretty for me and DH can get over it, if we went out somewhere he normally carried the baby & I got the bag anyway.

Most diaper bags out there now look like purses rather than diaper bags so I don't think it matters whether it's gender-neutral or not. Odds are the average person on the street isn't going to be able to tell the difference. I was iffy about spending $$ on a pricey bag but then I remembered I had 3 years of carrying one around so I bit the bullet and found a super cute Reese Li that I love. Since it looks like a purse I'll probably be using it long after I stop carrying around diapers.
