Well girls, I have two hernias that put me in the hospital for 5 days. Their not going to do anything until the baby is born, so everytime I puke, strain etc, it pushes out and there's a pong sized ball poking out of my belly button that is painful...ugh..smh
They wanted to put me on a liquid diet again, meaning Ensure for the rest of the pregnancy like w/ my daughter, but I hate Ensure now and I have a bad reaction to diary so I'm on SOY. So instead I have to avoid harder to digest food and meats.
Then the 16th I had an Ultrasound but the TECH couldn't see anything (such as organs/heart) cause the baby is positioned on it's stomach and won't move.
So now, next Monday I have another OB/GYN appointment and the week after I have a repeat Ultrasound..lol..
OOOOOH but she said she's 95% sure it's a girl....
FYI: My roomate was 23 weeks pregnant, and her and her husband would never wash their hands after using the restroom, come to find out she would run to the bathroom to go smoke ciggs..smh... and she just came out of surgery for her hernias....
All in all I'm fine now, still down 26lbs ... and everything seems to be going the other way. This is my second hospital admission in a month ...
HOPE YOUR ALL DOING WELL!

I know this post is old but I was wondering how you were doing. :/
I have a hernia in my groin area and DH and I are TTC...I just ovulated two days ago so we obviously won't know for at least a week. I have my surgeon consult tomorrow. I am really worried about being preg and needing surgery.
Any advice?

Thanks for asking, and best of wishes TTC.
IMO, I have been told getting hernias repaired are best in between pregnancies. Sadly I developed mine during pregnancy and it has been rough. After the hospitalization they informed me in time with the babys growth and uterus moving higher the pain will decrease. Well eventually it did I'm 33 weeks now and I don't have any problems/complications concerning the umbilical hernias. But up to last month I was back in OB/L&D complaining because it felt as if "baby" was kicking or pushing it, and it was quite painful. So I was given percocet.
The hernias now have been the last of my worries, but I'm glad their for the moment non-existant. I will do surgery after "baby" is born because I do plan on having more children and I can't deal with being told "There's not much we can do, during pregnancy"
Remember, everyones situation is different, after the hernia repair some people might have to wait weeks - months before TTC, and others have to get the "mesh" repaired again after pregnancy due to complications w/ the repair during pregnancy but your OB/GYN will consult based on your case.
The roomie I had during this ordeal, had the hernia repair sugery twice, one after pregnancy and one during pregnancy. It's a simple surgery, quick recovery and not quite painful at all.
Let me know how your surgeon consult goes !!!

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I go back and forth with being ok with it and then freaking out about it.
DH and I got pregnant very easily first two times around...DS, our first, was a surprise. DD was conceived first cycle off BCP. Last cycle was my first cycle off BCP and TTC...we had a chemical...so more than likely, I will end up preg this time around. :/ And I wanna be excited about it but now I am all like, sh**. But like you said, they will guide me in the right direction.
I kinda stalked you a little bit yesterday to see if I could find any updates, and I saw that you were having all sorta of scary experiences! Bless your heart! I hope everything is ok now. Settled down. July is right around the corner; I bet you are relieved! I have a niece due July 7 (planned c section), my cousin's daughter due aroun July 21, and another girlfriend of mine is due July 17. Very busy baby month - October is too. But anyway, thanks again for responding! I will let you know how my consult goes. Meep!

Yeah, I've had so much problems I'm on L&D payroll lol. Most of the complications are for the moment, but they have posed problems to last after pregnancy. That is another route that I am willing to take for the sake of my lil munchkin. lol.
Continue being excited! .. don't worry yourself at all. All things needed to know will be addressed so you will have that ease and not think "Oh crap, at the thought of something"
July is right around the corner, thankfully. I'm excited and hoping she stays put for my induction. Congrats to your cousin, girlfriend, and brother/sister as well. Next, with fingers crossed is yourself!
Yeah please let me know how it goes, and once again best of luck.

So I went in...I was sooo nervous. He asked me what he could do for me and I told him I was told I had a hernia. He ws reading my u/s results as I told him this and he looked puzzled. He says, "where?" I said, "I guess around my groin area. I am not to sure. That is just where I feel some dull aching." He still looked puzzled and tells me there was nothing on the report about a hernia. So he has me undress from the wait down and poked around on me while asking me to cough. Nope. Nada. Nothing. He checked my entire torso. He said I do NOT have a hernia but I do have some very strong abdominal muscles. That is because I work out! I love it and need it and this stupid hernia scare tried to ruin my life! ;P So anyway, there is apparently nothing wrong. He sayd it is probably a reproductive pain or a pinched nerve, or strained groin from working out like I do. Sheesh. I was making myself sick over nothing! At least now I get to be excited about my TWW!
Thanks so much! I hope your lil one stays put til it is time also! And I did read about your dilating. I walked around about 3 cm dilated with DS for about 6 weeks! I was about 2 cm with DD about 6 weeks out and then almost 4 cm before my water broke (at 39 weeks). Good luck!!!

I was reading about the inguinal hernias and there are posters who stated they've strained it from working out. OMG isn't that perfect? Now there's nothing to be concerned about it's a patiently waiting game. Blessing and best of wishes, I really hope things work out. I can imagine your excitement lol.
Thanks, I am thinking/hoping I might stay dilated until induction. I'm doubting I will have her before 37 weeks, but we will see lol
Once again hun. Great news and CONGRATS! Enjoy your weekend.
