...we're having a boy!

I'm still trying to stay "up" ... ever since my first pregnancy I've always wanted a girl. So I won't deny I was very disappointed and I wasn't 'thru the roof' excited about our new little guy. But that feeling is passing as I'm reminded that he's healthy ... Jaiden's going to have a brother close to his age (oh, the trouble I see them getting into! lol) ... I'm totally set on clothes forever! ... and I'm going to have another handsome little boy!! =D

DH saw how upset I was, he was really trying to stay positive for me ... but once we got home he broke down and cried because he felt like he failed me by not "giving" me my girl. I love him so much that he cares that much ... but it's completely not his fault. How can chance be anyone's fault? But I reminded him of all the things I've been thinking of and I know he's very happy to have another son.

We're definitely naming him Jackson ... middle name is still up in the air (DH suggested Samuel in the u/s room ... and even tho I love the name Samuel, it just didn't sound right. Then I realized why ... Samuel L. Jackson lol). The u/s tech said he's about 11oz and is 8.5 inches long. He's measuring in the 84th percentile ... who knew we made big babies? Oh, wait ... I did!! lol

Oh, another thing that kinda drove the "disappointment" home ... Jackson was very uncooperative. He was rolled to the back and facing my 'insides', so I have no good u/s pictures of him. It's silly, but I feel like I was jipped out of his first pictures. I have a huge roll of Jaiden's u/s pictures with his profile and all that ... and I have 4 pictures of Jackson ... one of his 'money shot', a foot picture, and two others that you can't really tell what you're seeing. No clear profile shot ... ugh, I'm more upset about that right now than not having a girl (because that disappointment has faded and I'm getting myself excited about it). I probably won't get another u/s unless there's an emergency reason for one ... my insurance most likely doesn't cover it. *sigh* Guess Jackson knows how much of a shutterbug I'll be when he gets here that he figures this is his chance for privacy. lol

Sorry for the rambling. Just needed to really talk about it ... I know it's very common to feel this way when you don't get what you expected. I just hate that I feel like I'm ungrateful for this healthy, beautiful boy growing inside me. I'm not ... I love him so much and I can't wait to meet him! Thanks for reading if you got this far!

There are a few of us struggling with disappointment in not getting what we thought/hoped for. I am sorry you didn't get the u/s pix you wanted - that is frustrating!

I'm sure he's going to be a handsome little man and you're going to love him very much once you adjust... just don't put him in dresses and confuse the poor kid.

LOL ... my DH would kill me if I ever did anything like that! I'll just get myself a baby doll and dress her up if I feel the urge. =D

Thanks everyone! I know many of you have felt the same and it's nice to know I'm not alone.

Awww sunshine, I know how you feel. When I was pg with ds, not only did he keep his legs firmly crossed but I think I got 3 decent pics of him; he was so shy.

It gets easier - with time comes acceptance and pretty soon you'll be wondering how you ever did without two little boy destroys.

Congratulations!

I am sorry you didn't get your girl. I know how disappointed you are.......I can just imagine how I will feel if this baby is another girl. It's ok to feel that way. I know you will love your little guy.

Congrats on your little boy! I totally get those feelings. I had 3 boys before my first girl. I am sure you will be in love with Jackson once he arrives.
