I know we've had a thread like this before but I thought since people are starting to find out what they are having we can try it again.
For my DS: His name was chosen long before we even thought about having kids seriously. His full name is William Isaac and he comes from a very long line of Williams on his fathers side so there wasn't much of a choice. We chose his middle name because it flowed well. He goes by his middle name until he can choose what he wants to answer to.
For little girl in the belly: DH would not even talk about boys names as he was soooo sure it was a girl ( and he was right.) . He loves this show Firefly that used to be on Fox but was cancelled. There is a girl on there named River. My stipulations for a girls name was I wanted it to be something different since my name Melissa is soooo common from my time. So he named her River and I love it! We both liked the name Eryn so we made that her middle name.

We aren't picking baby's name until it's born. I am actually trying really, really hard not to think of anything yet.
We did this with Leo and it was fun. We wound up looking up things like the Saint's name for the day (if there were any that day) and I brought an Irish baby names book and we just started tossing names out. He didn't have a name though until he was 2 days old, but I love his name now and it fits him perfectly.

Levi's full name is Levi Xavier. My grandpa's middle name is Lee but I didn't want to use just that so I looked for something that I liked that started with the "lee" sound. Levi was just kinda retro-cool at the time. It wasn't until after he was born that the name started shooting up the charts, lol. Xavier is after Prof. Charles Xavier on the X-men. Yeah, I know - DH and I are total geeks, lol.
This little one is going to be Lennon Rhys. DH's name is Justin after Justin Hayword of the Moody Blues. I wanted to carry that tradition and DH wanted to keep the L thing going so we came up with Lennon after John Lennon. Rhys was one of the few names that we both really liked and it flows really well.

I have been trying to narrow it down for a while. DH and I don't agree on anything name related so it will take the entire 40 weeks to come up with something we both can live with. I would like to wait until the baby is born but if we did that he/she would be a month old with no name.
If it's a boy his middle name will start with "V" to go with his brother and dad.
If it's a girl her middle name will be Ruth for my late grandmother.

My DD is Rebecca Michelle. I'd heard the name Rebecca in a song when I was little, and when I was 8 I decided that my first daughter would be named Rebecca. Michelle came about when I had hit my due date and decided I didn't want to have her named after me, I wanted her to have her own name. My dad said I should name her Michelle, and then I thought it would be a good middle name because the first name was set in stone. So one night when DH and I were laying in bed we were putting names with Rebecca and I said "Rebecca Michelle?" and he said "yeah, I was just about to say that!" so there it was.
This baby is Nathan Christopher. Nathan is just a name both DH and I liked for a while, and we said if we ever have a boy he will be Nathan. Christopher is after DH.

Thats so funny, because DBF and I both love that show as well, and he wanted to use that same name for a girl. We were thinking about using it as a middle name, but we found out our baby is a boy, so thats not happening, lol.
As for how we are going about choosing our name... so far we have just been picking our favorites and stubbornly clinging to them. Although his top pick is starting to grow on me, and vice versa, I think.
Teresa: Leo is actually one of our top contender names right now. Its the one my BF has been pushing for. My BFF thinks its too weird to name a Leo baby Leo, but who knows, we might end up going for that one.

With my first, DH and I had been pretty set on the name before he was even conceived. Originally, I had wanted to name my first son Aiden ... but after meeting DH and finding out about his J-name tradition, we added a J to it and got Jaiden. Super common nowadays ... but, heck, so was my name in the 80s (Jessica). The middle name, Thomas, I picked out because it was my grandfather's middle name. DH had no choice on that one. =D
With this baby, we knew we wanted to use Jackson, because DH has always wanted a son named Jack. So DH pretty much gets full control of this baby's name because I "hijacked" our first son's. =D I've given him a list of names I found in a baby book that I like so that he has an idea of what direction to go in. =D I, personally, like Arthur (our gpas' names) or James (DH's name). So we'll see what he picks! =D

We agreed on Jackson as a boys name before we even conceived, and we weren't TTC. We just talked about it once or twice and decided it was an awesome name, we both always wanted a son named Jack. So, when we found out it was a boy there was no other choice. It would have been harder if he was a girl.
Oh and his middle name will be Matthew because it is my dbf's name and they have tradition in their family of giving the son the fathers middle name.

DS is Jacob Peter. DH loved the name Jacob and I finally agreed. Peter is after my grandfather who passed 1 year before Jacob was born.
We've talked about names but haven't decided on anything yet for this one, especially since we're keeping gender a surprise until delivery. But on the off chance we do find out on Tuesday then we'll go through the name book and both pull out several options then talk about them for a couple weeks, if not longer.

We usually toss names around and see if we both agree on the name. Usually we don't and we get a short list. We end up settling on a name before the baby is born, but in the end when I'm in labour DH always says that I have final say, because I'm in so much pain . So far I've always gotten the name that I want.
It's hard this time. I have a few names floating in my head, but haven't settled on anything yet. For a boy we have decided that the name will be Daniel. DD came up with that and DH likes it and I've always named my baby dolls Daniel when I was growing up, so there is no way going back now. Daniel it is. However middle names or a girl's name......that's still up in the air.

My oldest is Gage Jacob, his first name came from a movie my husband and I both love. Pet Semetary.. Jacob is a name I've always loved but he wouldn't budge on it being a first name. So he agreed we could use it as a middle name.
Our 2nd is Dane Valentine, Dane is a name we both just loved and it was 2nd on our list from Gage. Valentine is my husbands dads middle name and his (my husbands) great grandpas middle name. It took him awhile to sell me on it.
This baby is going to be Bishop Theodore. Bishop was actually not the original name we chose but after just reading off baby names and mentioning that to my husband he loved it. So we decided his name would be Bishop. Theodore is his middle name and its after my grandfather who passed away in January of 05 (my oldests birthday actually). I wanted to honor him and we decided to go with Theodore.

Mia Simone - we didn't come up with a name until we knew she was a girl. I just picked something I felt sounded utterly feminine. The name fits - she's a total girlie girl. The kid loves Sephora as much as Mommy does!
Marlee Cole - followed the M sibset. There are no other Marlees in our area at all. Different, but not what I consider to be weird. Cole is her middle name after my best friend (her god mommy) Nicole.
This baby will be Miles Christopher or Morgan Olivia.
Miles Christopher - Miles is my maiden name, and has always been my boy name. Christopher is DH's name.
Morgan Olivia - again Morgan isn't a name that you hear too often around here. Plus it follows the M sibset and has a different vowel sound than Mia and Marlee. I just think Olivia flows really well with it.

How fun...
My first son I wanted to name Tristan.. I just looove that name... finally negotiated enough with my husband to get him to agree.. then while I was in labor I started doubting the name.. when he was born I couldn't name him Tristan.. So all day passes and DH is sitting in a chair next to the bed holding him and I said (completely out of my rear) how bout Jarod.. and the baby coo's... DH and I laugh... and Jarod it is. Now - the spelling... well that was a complete spelling ERROR lmfao.. We were leaving the hospital and I was doing 10 things at once and just sounded it out.. J..a...r...o...d I realized a few hours later I'd spelt it wrong.. figured I'd just send in the spell change later but by the time I got his notice I had decided that Jarod was the way it was going to stay. He's Jarod Alexander (DH picked the middle name)...
My 2nd son didn't have a name... after the Tristan fiasco I wasn't going to do it again.. so he came out early and we didn't even have a short list.. It took us 4 days of throwing around names until Zachary stuck stuck. He's Zachary Aaron (Aaron is DH's middle name).
And now for this girl... well her name is Kamry Elizabeth... At whatever point we had a girl the middle name was going to be Elizabeth.. it's a family name and it goes back and back and back... Kamry is actually my sister's fault.. She had a dream a LONG time ago that we had 2 boys and a little girl named Kamry.. I've loved it ever since. Jarod already calls her 'my sister Kamry'... and we only talked about the name once. The nickname Kam or Kami is to darn cute.. and I highly doubt this time it'll change (even though my husband isn't 100% on board.. afterall why would I want to name my kid after a car?)

We each have our own rules for baby names... so it should be interesting when we both try to come up with something together. We've tossed around a few things, and I can already tell this is going to take a while!

Ralie is named after my husband and myself. Of coarse mine is Rachel and his is Leslie so, RA+LIE = Ralie!! Michelle is after a little girl that I use to babysit and I just loved her and her Mother.
My Husband actually picked Audrey's name. I knew that I wanted a "A" name and we could not agree on anything. I wanted Avery. He called me one day and said what about the name Audrey, I just heard it and I really like it. Then he put it all together and I just fell in love with it. We already knew what the middle name was going to be.
Nicole is after my sister, so Audrey Nicole Perkins!
