I go back if my contractions get work, I start bleeding or leaking. He said no sexual activity and the butthead refused to put me on bedrest. Says all I do is sit around at work. NOT TRUE. I'm on my feet half the day and have lots of stress from my boss. And with the fetal fibronectin being positive the chances of me delivering in the next 2 weeks are VERY HIGH. My office is an hour from the hospital. I can't take the chance of going to work because everytime I am there, by the end of the day, I'm contracting awful, since Wednesday!

I want to keep him baking. I guess the only reason he didn't put me on bedrest is because I'm not dialating. I guess I have to dilate before he'll do it. I AM, however, taking tomorrow off work and going to get a second opinion. I honestly don't like him...he wouldn't talk to me about my concerns at all, he ran in and out of the hospital room. They made such a HUGE DEAL out of my delivering early, I had all kinds of meds and I'm miserable and the nurses were very worried....yet working in a stressful (and I mean stressful environment) is beneficial to the baby...how?

I'm just so frustrated and depressed right now. I don't want a preterm baby. I want Caleb to keep cooking. If that means laying around for the next however many weeks I'm committed to doing it. I wasn't this early with my daughter, I was 29 weeks with her, and they put me on bedrest with her. I was 1cm but not dialating past that point with all the contractions..ugh.

OMG! Unbelievable. Totally I'd get a second opinion. Do you go to a different practice for that?

Glad to hear you are home! Good luck with getting a second opinion tomorrow. You really do not need to be working at the moment so I hope it goes well! I'll be thinking about you and waiting for an update tomorrow.

Get a second opinion! For sure. Let them know about the stress and being on your feet...exaggerate! Do what ever you need to do to stay healthy and stress free...do that and no regrets...you did everything in your power! The rest is up to God. Happy to hear you made it out safely with this episode. We are still praying for you and your family!

Yeah I have to go to a different practice...this particular guy delivered my son. He's must more involved, bedside manner is 100X better. I just pray he'll accept me in. The nurse there loves me and was just asking my mom about me the other day..maybe she can pull me some strings and get me in there.

Well that is reassuring! I hope that he accepts you and all turns out well. Just being an hour away from the hospital to me is stress enough! I can't imagine working my job all day and on top of that having to worry about what you're going through. This guy just seems to be real un-empathetic.

Glad to hear you're home, and I hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow. That's what sucks about choosing dr.'s...it's very hard to know how they'll handle situations like this. Take care of yourself, and just try not to let your job stress you no matter what. Either way it's not worth harming yourself or the baby...

wow....I cannot believe that he didn't put you on bedrest and wouldn't address any of your concerns. I would go to the 2nd doctor, not just for a 2nd opinion, but for GOOD! I wouldn't see someone ever again, who, as I'm lying in a hospital bed contracting, doesn't take me seriously.

I really hope you're able to see this second dr. and that he's able to take you on as a patient.

I'll be praying that Caleb stays put and keeps on baking!

I'm calling first thing in the morning. Tonight I'm still contracting...mildly. But they said unless I get 10 or more in an hour and they get more and more intense (they are about the same intensity right now), then not to come back in. My lower back is cramping like you would NOT believe and everytime I sit down I feel intense pressure.

BTW: Baby Caleb was head up when I went in, now he is head down. Good thing going for us is that I'm posterior and closed, as of now.

I called my boss, he seemed understanding. So I'm just not going to worry about that right now.

Oh man, yeah you need to be on bedrest. Spend all your time watching sappy day time tv, and all that. I hope you're able to get in with this doctor who has a brain.. not like that other doc, who needs to be shot.

Im very glad you're home and I will keep praying that baby Caleb keeps baking! I understand about the stress at work, I drive the same distance and am under a mountain of stress as I currently have a law suit against my employer for pregnancy discrimnation... talk about mega stress! Just trust in God, he will keep you and Caleb safe. If you do start dialating, is a circlage and option to buy more time? And I totally agree with getting a second opinion. IMHO, you need to be off your feet and doing as little as possible... hugs!

Good luck at the new practice. If they won't put you on bed rest, have you thought of going on maternity leave early? It seems like you probably won't go all the way to 40 weeks anyway. It would totally stink not to have any after the baby arrives, but maybe you could work something out with your boss and tough it out financially. Anyway, I'm sorry you are in that situation and I hope it works out.

I'm really glad you're home and resting. If I were you I would totally go and get a second opinion-can't hurt right? Best of luck to you-and keep us posted.
