Well my nurse called me shocked...my GD test came back higher than any she's ever seen. She was freaking out! I have to go do the 3 hour GD test tomorrow morning (after fasting again) and have my blood drawn every hour for 3 hours. Although she says its most definite I have it.

So, anyone else ever had GD or been diagnosed? I'm going to have to do some research on what I can eat..since all I like is carbs and sugars lately I feel I'll be eating lots of veggies and stuff!

I'm still sitting here shocked, I never had a problem with any of pregnancies before!

Oh NO! I'm so sorry! Maybe after you get your diet under control, your body will feel less stressed and your contractions will calm down! I hate that you are going through so much!

I was borderline my last pregnancy and they told me to not eat sugar, white bread or white pasta. It kind of sucked not being able to eat sweets but what are you going to do? I'm dreading my 1 hour test coming up in a few weeks. Good luck with your 3 hour test.

Yikes Elizabeth! I don't have experience with this, but hope the 3 hour test comes back with positive news!

I have never had it either but my girlfriend gets it with all of her babies, and has to modify her diet and it makes her babies huge!! They are all near 11 lbs full term and they say its because GD makes them bigger.

Good luck with it and so sorry its another thing you have to deal with!! geeezz cant you catch a break?

How bad was your score? My ob said for the 1 hour if it was 200 or over they automatically say you have GD because that's way high. I don't know how you had such a high score without a past history of problems. Hmmm...

Oh, there's a GD board in the high risk pregnancy forum. I'm there because I've been doing my glucose testing (I was borderline diabetic before pregnancy, don't know if I have GD yet) and being a hemophilia A carrier. They can point you in the right direction and the internet is full of help for diet and recipes and other things.

I know 4 people who had GD....although one of them still doubts she really had it, she thinks she messed up the test both times.

Oh wow! I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time lately. The 3 hour test definitely doesn't sound fun. Hopefully it'll go smoothly and you get good news back. If you do have GD though, I'm sure you'll be able to get it under control no problem!

I had to do the 3 hour with DD 8 years ago but it came back ok. I just got a call from the ob this morning and my gd test last week was ok but my iron is low so I got the vitamins callled in to my drug store. I hope everything turns out ok with the 3 hour.

Oh no! I am so sorry it was so high. I too hope for a miracle that you will not end up having it.
