So I too, have failed the 3 hour glucose test. I failed the fasting test first so I knew that wasn't a good sign. The next two I passed. Woo Hoo, only to fail the last.

I only have to check sugar two times daily - and only twice per week. So that's not too bad. Has anyone else started the diet/monitoring with glucometer yet?

lol the "GD" test... aww, I'm sorry you failed it!! Sheesh, we aren't having much luck with GD in this group, are we? I'm going in for my initial screen tomorrow...I put it off for as long as possible but ultimately if I do have GD I want to know so I can take make sure the baby doesn't get too big.

Sounds like you don't have to check very often at all!! That's good!!

I failed the first one - the one hour test. I'm going Saturday morning for a 2-hour test.

What do you have to do diet wise?

I too failed....I started the diet somewhat, I really don't know much about what I'm supposed to eat but I have just cut out soda, sugar, white bread, white rice, stuff like that. I go tomorrow to a program and they will give me a meter and teach me how to use it and what to eat. Sorry you failed yours, no fun at all but we can do it

It's an 1800 calorie diet. Just like nevergivingup said, you cannot eat white bread, sugar, sodas, sweets, etc. I hope you pass!!!

I'm borderline diabetic and check my blood before I eat in the morning and then two hours after meals. I saw my doc and she said I'm doing awesome which was nice but I've gained ZERO weight on this diet! It's crazy because I have to eat so much of what I can eat to feel full and I mean lots of protein and cheese for me LOL.

My diet is no milk or fruit for breakfast, limit carbs to 30-45 for meals, 15-20 for snacks and my score after meals should be less than 120. My fasting has always been less than 95 so it's really about my score after meals. That two hour glucose result during the three hour test being too high is what got me testing.

I really do feel for you girls who are dealing with it. I have a girlfriend here who's due just two days before me with her second, and she's had it both times. And I'm married to a severe type 2 diabetic.

It's a stressful diet, and while it's good for you, I know it's like a full time job to get the meal plans for any week together...So sorry you guys are having to deal with it.

UGH...I have to schedule my test! This post isn't making me want to jump up and go do that any time soon. I've been craving jelly beans and juice...we'll see...

Go ahead and schedule! I really thought I would pass - I've never had any sugar problems before but this is my first baby. I hope you pass too!
