Ethan latched on and nursed once before bed last night and twice overnight. I was making so much milk I was engorged and squirting everywhere, perhaps that's why he was nursing so readily? It came quickly like a bottle? He did insist on one bottle at 12:30pm last night (before I was engorged he wouldn't latch on). I swear every time I have him figured out, he changes. I pumped this morning after his 6:30am feeding and STILL got 3oz!

So maybe my body is reverse cycling? It'd be awesome if he'd NURSE all night long...then I could only pump once in the AM, and once on my lunch break at work. That'd work out beautifully.

I guess we shall see. If he continues nursing on me at night I will. I think I'll feed him breastmilk and formula during the day, and I'm still spacing out my pumpings during the day, because I simply can't pump enough during the day at work to supply him fully. But I really think this might work. Cross your fingers! I'd LOVE to be able to come home at the end of the work day and reconnect with him by sitting down and nursing him. And nursing him while I co-sleep at night. It'll give me a lot more sleep than getting up to make a bottle.

One thing I DID do differently last night is I didn't feed him laying down. He doesn't seem to like to latch on laying down, so I sat up and held him across my chest to nurse like I usually try to do during the day and it worked wonderfully. His gas and fussiness was a lot less last night too.

Please x your fingers that I continue making milk at night and he continues nursing at least once or twice (I can pump the rest of the evening if needed and feed him through a bottle).

I'm totally crossing my fingers for you Elizabeth!! I agree that even if he has to have a bottle during the day breastfeeding through the night would be a beautiful way to reconnect! Ethan is keeping you on your toes with all his chopping and changing, little stinker!!
