Any suggestions? My baby does not like to be put down, and I can't get anything done. I've never used a carrier so don't even know what brands there are. But I can not go on holding him all day and getting nothing done.

If you can afford it, an Ergo. Otherwise, a moby or mai tei.

Love my Ergo, but a wrap type would be great if you can't afford one.

For this small stage I prefer wraps (moby, sleepy wrap) or slings (peanut shell, hotsling). I have mei tai and SSC carriers too (I have a Beco, it's similar to the Ergo) but I like those more for when they're bigger. I'd suggest looking into some used ones so you can see what you like if you're not sure. My sling is the only way I've gotten anything done in the last month!

I love love love my Moby Wrap that I just got the other day. It's so comfortable to wear and my LO really seems to like being in it. I had some other carrier with straps and stuff but he was not comfortable in it.
Long live the Moby wrap. You can wear your baby in all kinds of positions with it, and even use it as a sling too!

I wouldn't make it through my day if it wasnt for my sleepy wrap. I seriously spend 18-20 hours a day unable to put Brian down and if it wasnt for the wrap I would go insane!

I have Hotslings (yes, more than one), Mobys (yes, more than one), and an Ergo (just one so far. Claire loves them all...anything to be close to us. DH uses the Moby, too, and loves it. I agree that the Moby or a sling works better when they are this little...we use them a lot more than the Ergo at this stage.

I prefer ring slings and pouches over soft structured carriers (ergo/beco) when they are this small.

I'm a big hotsling fan at this age, even up to 6-8 months it's still my preference.

I have a sling EZee that works well. I'm thinking of making a Mei Tei or Moby wrap though so I have some other options.

We have an ergo but havnen't used it yet beacuse I still need to get an infant insert. It took me three days to figure out how to wrap and use my moby (with help from youtube!) but once I did, it was definitely a lifesaver. I don't know how I surivived the first few weeks without it. I'm using it as I type now!

I use my hotsling a ton right now for getting things done around the house, or even going grocery shopping, etc. I also love my Moby, but it can get a bit hot if were outdoors at all.

I have a munchkin jelly bean sling, Adeline loves it, but I hate it. It hurts my back a ton.. I just ordered a beco!! I've heard amazing things about them and know many girls who have them and love them! I am very excited to get it in!!

A friend of mine just told me about a website where you can rent carriers and then if you like it, you can buy it. I'll try to find what the website is.
Also, you can easily make a moby type wrap for about $10. Just buy 5-6 yards of jersey knit fabric, cut it in half lengthwise and then taper it at each end.....no sewing needed since jersey knit won't fray. Then just look up online how to wear it.

Hotslings Baby Carrier- Fleur : Target
I don't know why they show the original price on that site as $60, I have only ever seen them for $40

I think because that one is "designer" you are pretty much paying for the print, if youre not totally set on that one, ive seen them for 30-40 dollars most other places
