How much baby food does your 9 month old baby eat a day? Mine only eats about 1, if that, she mostly BFs and eats cheerios. Our pediatrician told me that "most babies" eat 4-5 jars a day. I was so surprised. Is this true in your experience? She didn't gain much weight since her 6 month visit, so he wanted me to feed her more, so I keep offering her more baby food, but she just isn't very into it.
He told me I need to supplement after I nurse her. She ends up taking about 2 onces more a day than what I produce, but I feel like every day that I do this I have less and less milk the next day. (I've never been an abundant milk producer.) I think she'll have to be completely weaned soon since the more I supplement the less milk I produce, and I am sad about it. (But I want to make absolutely SURE that she is getting all of the milk she needs, so I will continue to supplement.)
Part of me wishes the dr. would take into account genetics. My older daughter did this exact same thing with the weight drop off right when she started to crawl and walk, and to this day is still in the 5-10th percentile in weight. (My husband has always been VERRRY skinny, like, below the charts skinny.)
But anyway. Original question. How much baby food do your babies eat?

My son loves solids so he will eat as much as we give him but he also didn't gain much weight over the last 2 months so I try to make sure it's really spaced out from his BFing.
My doctor said it is common for babies at this age to have a slow down in weight gain because of increased activity and more distractions.
I am sorry that you feel like you are being forced to supplement. I have never been an abundant producer either so I know that is upsetting. When I started working more it became very obvious that I would not be able to produce enough milk to feed him while I was gone. We decided to make his last bottle of the day all formula. This works well for me because it allows DH to put him to bed sometimes, it allows me to pump at that time and store the milk, and it actually did help him start sleeping better.
It has worked well for us because I still get all that time feeding him during the day and I have some milk to store that I wasn't getting before.
But as to your original question...he eats at least 8-10 oz a day.
Keep trying with the solids but don't let it stress you. If your daughter wasn't getting enough milk to be satisfied then she would let you know that.

We never did baby food. We just started with table food. He's never been terribly interested in food, though. It's not that he doesn't like things - he'll eat pretty much anything but he just maybe eats a couple of bite at any meal. He would much rather play with the food, utensils, high chair straps, whatever. So there's no way he eats the equivalent of even one or two jars of baby food. I asked our pedi about it Friday and she said not to worry about it. Once we switch him to whole milk in a few months he will be hungry and he will start eating more. She said a lot of parents think their child isn't eating enough but they will get what they need as long as food is being offered. He is formula fed and not crawling yet, so even though he doesn't eat many solids he still gained 2.5 pounds in the last three months.

My daughter isn't very interested in food, baby food or table food. She'll eat at most 2 jars of baby food a day, and even less in table food if I give that to her.
I think she thinks eating is boring!

I think we've had one or two days where Juliana has eaten a full jar of purees. We also give her table food, cheerios, mum-mums, and Gerber snacks. She's the least interested in purees. Sometimes she may only take one bite and refuse. She was in the 99th percentile for weight at 6 months but she's definitely slowed down on weight gain quite a bit.
I don't know why the pedi is concerned if your baby is healthy. It sounds like genetics are playing a role more than food intake, and now your milk supply is diminishing thanks to this advice.

Hunter will eat a small jar of fruit puree for breakfast as well as oatmeal cereal mixed with yogurt.. He is still on formula for the day, and then around 5pm will eat a 1/2 jar veggies 1/2jar of meat&veggie mix. I also offer water in his sippy cup at breakfast and dinner.
I've realized he absoultely cannot stand stage 2 purees with the chunks of carrots, peas and potatos. He will take peices of my banana bread, or grilled cheese sandwich, or mashed potatoes and other table foods, but he HATES the jarred stage 2. I'm learning to let him try more of our food as long as it doesn't have shell fish, peanuts, honey, strawberries, or eggs. (until he is the right age for these allergens)

4-5 jars really doesn't explain much because jars/pouches vary in ounces. Some jars are 2oz, some are 3.5, some are 4 and 4+. So up until Sophie started table foods she was probably eating between 10-16 ounces of puree a day.
We're not doing much puree anymore since we are almost completely on table foods.

Sophie hates chunky pureed food but will eat "real" food so much better! This morning I gave her Yo Baby and some of a cereal bar (with fruit), OMG she loved it.

We are feeding mostly table foods atm, with the occasional jar of baby food. She nurses tons though and went from 50th percentile in height and weight at her 6 month checkup, to 25th and 30th (?) at her 9 month (she is actually smaller at 9 months than her sister was at 6 months!) but the doc said it's normal for this age.
If you're worried about your milk production, let baby nurse for as long as she wants before giving her the supplement. Look into making some Monster Cookies They help! Also, don't let this stuff stress you out, because stress can affect your supply too.

Caleigh eats 5 jars of stage 2 fruits and veggies along with a good portion of oatmeal in the morning. She nurses are 3 - 4 times a day and sleeps though the night on most nights. She does eat some table foods but not enough to be considered a meal. Oh and cheerios puffs etc too!

Ty varies on his days, but I would say on average he eats 2-3 jars a day plus 2 servings of baby oatmeal. He also nurses on demand countless times a day and night. Ty does not eat any table food yet.
