Help!! My LO was a great sleeper for a while, then started waking at night for feedings around 5-6 months old. I was then able to get him back to sleeping through the night for a few weeks. Now for the past 2 weeks, he has been waking at night again. Sometimes he cries, other times I find him sitting up in his crib babbling or playing with his pacifier. This is happening at all sorts of times, midnight, 2 am, 4 am, there is no rhyme or reason. The past 2 nights I have had to feed him because he was crying loudly and wouldn't go back to sleep with just a diaper change or pacifier. I know about the CIO method, but I just cant do it because anytime I do check on him, I either find a very wet diaper, or I think he is truly hungry because he sucks down a 6 oz bottle quickly and I just feel like he is crying for a legitimate reason. Maybe it is caused by teething? As for daytime naps, they have stayed consistent and I try to stick to a schedule.

I'm guessing he is going through a growth spurt, the timing seems about right for that. Teething could also be part of it. I think that you are right that he is crying for a reason. I personally would just keep doing what your doing. I don't do CIO and my oldest is a great sleeper now.

I agree with Cara.

Although, Omair hasn't wavered from his every 2 hour waking schedule since birth and I'm so over it by now. I'm considering talking to his dr about it. Solid food before bed did nothing to change his wakings. Im soooooo done!

Tell me about it. I have no idea why he would start waking unless he is growing or he is thinking about his new milestones, etc.

Jackson has always been a horrible sleeper (except for 2 glorious weeks around 3 months where he would sleep 7-8 hours). Right now it is so bad he is up every 1-3 hours. I am EXHAUSTED and SO SICK of it but there really isn't much I can do. I can't just let him cry in the middle of the night and go back to sleep.........I just think that's cruel.

I was going to guess teething, Jackson is always a much worse sleeper (which is bad, considering he never sleeps well normally) when he is teething.

Oh my gosh Shalyn, I was just trying to think of the longest stretch of sleep that Jackson has ever done and it occured to me that for a while, right around 3 months old, he was sleeping in 6-7 hr stretches. I know for a fact it was around that time, too, for various reasons. SO weird! Our babies are twins.

I agree that he is probably going though a growth spurt.

I'm going to say growth spurt , Tommy was doing this for a couple of weeks. The last few nights he has been sleeping well. I hope it stays this way.

Sorry. Natalie is doing better again. Could be teething. Mine usually wake up more when they are teething. I hope he is sleeping better for you soon.
