I just don't know how this is going to work. So far we are on day 2 of the convertible and she screams the whole time unless she fell asleep. She never cried before in her infant carrier and loved car rides.
I have had it more upright and that didn't help so I reclined it some more and that didn't help. I am gonna try again in reclining it a little bit more. the 45 degree angle just won't work in my car.
After our next check I am thinking if she still has issues in going and seeing about a different seat. I mean I do want to do ERF till at least 2 or weight of the seat but buying a high rf weight limit just isn't as much of a priority for us as much as a good seat that is in our price range. I know most now go to 40lbs so thats not even much of an issue. I just don't know. In her infant carrier I did have toys hanging from the bar that she loved. But I can't listen to her scream either.
Oh I have a Safety 1st Avenue. Its not to bad padding wise and outside of my beef with the chest clip it is a decent seat IMO.
Anyone else have one that hated the convertible but loved/didn't mind their infant seat.

Maybe it's got nothing to do with the seat itself. Miranda started freaking out too everytime I stick her in the seat. She used to love car rides and would sleep all the time. Now she screams the whole time, unless she's really tired and falls asleep. It drives me nuts. What happened to my car happy baby?? I guess she's starting on the same path as my other kiddos who screamed bloody murder when they were rear facing. That is why they went forward facing at 1.

Yeah I am really hoping she is just having a moment. Because I am sick of doing the infant carrier. When we go in the store it stays in the car. But we dont' use the base so its kinda a PITA to unbuckle and all that...lol But it might be worth it so not to listen to the screams.

We've used the convertible from day 1 (safety first air protect). It's quite cushy and comfy, but Omair hates it. He usually cries himself to sleep. it has been getting better more and more though. I think it just takes some time for them to get used to it and be ok with it (keep in mind we were gone for 2 months, whereby he didn't use any car seat). If I were you Id stick with what you have...you can't keep going around and buying carseats. She'll get used to it!

Buying a new seat at this point would be a last resort. But wouldn't be to out of the norm since then I would just put this one in DH's pickup like planned but he decided not important and I do agree to a certain extent. I just like having a choice in what vehicle we take at time without the extra work. But yes I would much rather her just get over it..lol Because well driving is part of our life..lol

Tommy hates the car seat too. But he has also been in his convertible seat from early on, like 6 weeks. He usually only cries when I buckle him in, he usually stops after we start moving. I hope she gets used to it quick for you.

I wish it was that way...lol She is all smiles when I put her in and all screams while we drive. Music somewhat helps and then she is all smiles when we stop and I get out to grab to her...lol
My luck she will be like I was/am about seatbelts as she gets older. And will have many battles over the issues..lol

lol...I feel for you. I can't stand crying when I am driving, it's such a distraction. When he starts it gets me all frazzled, I couldn't handle it the whole car ride.

Can you put a mirror or toy or something on the headrest of the seat so she has something to keep her entertained?

I have been looking at those toys and stuff like that thinking it might help since in her infant seat she had a few toys hanging from it. Gotta look at my headrest to see how it will work as well..lol

Thanks I will have to look into that.
She did a bit better today. I clipped the toy around her strap so she can reach it but not toss it out. Since that seems to be part of the issue is she tosses everything. Also I think some had to do with the sun so have to go pick up some shade things.
But we had minimal crying after we got going so YAY..lol

River has hated the car since day one. Nothing we do helps. We are hoping once we can face the seat forward it will change. We aren't able to go anywhere long distances with her which sucks because we love to travel.
