I know I asked this before of others but I'm always curious.....what were your personal reasons for switching?

Liz, I've always wanted to, even when Riley was a baby. I just never followed through it. It's always peaked my interest, I tend to like natural things and cloth diapering seems to go hand in hand with my parenting style. Plus my new year's resolution was for us to live more organically, more simply, more greener and healthier and this was just one more reason to do so

Plus I don't really like disposables, the chemicals make me cringe and if you've ever had a diaper explode on you and see all those little crystal things you're never really the same

The reason holding me back was we lived in a super tiny town in the middle of the nowhere and I didn't really have many resources. I have a hard time buying things online that I haven't seen/felt before (I rarely buy clothes online for this reason) and even though I had read all the cd websites, had my cart filled online more times than I can count, I just never followed through with it because of the unknown. I went into 2 local stores this week, felt, touched, listened to others about cloth and bit the bullet and went for it.

So far, I love it I currently have 8 diapers, just bought a happy heiny for her easter basket so 9. In the mail I have 7 more coming along with some prefolds (and thirsty covers) and a wetbag. I'm going to make my own homemade wipes this weekend too!

Kristen, does it seem to be any more work than disposables? Anything unexpected, either good or bad or just different? I really want to take the plunge, but...gah! I'm nervous to!! Probably because of the intitial price involved even though disposables are way more expensive in the long run.

Get the fool proof ones like me. They cost a little more but it's literally JUST like a disposable that you wash! You can't screw this up, especially if you use disposable liners....you just flush the poop!

A little cheaper of you buy in packages Diaper Packages - Cotton Babies Cloth Diaper Store

Daffodil, the more you're willing to pay, the easier it is! It's not as easy as disposable diapers, but it's still greener and cheaper (if you take care of them, they can be used for your next baby). We still use 'sposies for nights and occasionally on outings.
