O/T- Famous people

I had a silly dream last night where I met Kate Gosslin...LOL HA HA. I really cant stand her so no idea why I would dream that.

Just curious if you or your dh's have ever met anyone famous? Who? Where at?

My dh and I never have. Well, He has met a few Colts players but thats it.

I've met pink and Carey Hart a bunch of times we are into off road anything and Cary has his own Sx team and races Loors other times we bumped into them at the mall and just her at walmart it's weird making small talk in a line with her. I've met Jazz players and some classic car builders like Chip Foose the Fonz Travis Pastrana a couple times.

Ok, this might be a long list...hopefully I don't forget anyone!

I've seen a TON at events (shows, premieres, conventions...those don't count, right?) I live in LA and worked in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Hollywood, etc.

These are the people I've just seen out and about:
P. Diddy (the day I Michael Jackson died)

Danny Devito (Rhea and Danny were on the same plan as me from Cleveland to LA--I have a picture with them on my facebook)
Melanie Griffith (on plane with me from LA to Cleveland)

Sascha Baron Cohen (my friend had to point him out to me because I really am not that familiar with him or know what he looks like!)

David Duchovny (I've seen him at fan events but also just out and about)

That's all I can think of right now. There are other celebrities I have encoutered (seeing or talking on the phone) at the various pharmacies, but I can't mention them because of privacy violations.

I swear I sat next to Christian Slater on a plane once...nobody believes me,but I swear it was him!

Other than that, I don't think I've met anyone famous. Does Walter Gretzky (Wayne's dad) count? He's a celebrity in Canada

Ummm... I've met the entire band "Live" several times. They're not really famous any more, but they were big when I was in HS & college. They are from near my home town & they used to hang-out in the restaurant I worked in. They were all at this restaurant with their wives for New Year's Eve 2002. Living & working around DC, I've seen various politicians around town. I think that's it.

We were walking on Hollywood beach in FL and saw Dennis Rodman eating at a restaurant. he was there with a group of friends. I Met Carlos Arroyo. he played with the MIAMI HEAT. I bought darwin a jersey and he signed it. I have a pic of me and Carlos on my old phone! We were at a hockey game and Don King was there promoting the fights he was going to have on V-day a couple years back so got a pic of him. then we went to the boxing fight and saw a few others. But i guess they really arent big celebrities just famous athletes. Carlos arroyo is a cutie!

OMG how could i forget!!! Tyrese was at my work!! that was the best day of our lives here at work! he was meeting with the owner of the company. and the receptionist told us he was out there so we ran to the front and I walked right over to him and smiled he said hi but I couldnt say anything!!! I have a pic of him on the catwalk talking on the phone:

Billy Ripken (he used to come into the Deli I worked at all the time)

My DH's Cousin is married to a famous runner __ D o n o v a n __ P o w e l l __ who was in the olympics, His brother ___ A s a f a ___ held the world record for the 100 M dash and also ran in the olympic games and will probably run again. They run for Jamaica. I'm hoping that since I spaced their names out this thread won't pop up on google. Anyway my Cousin in law and D have the cutest little boys.

them. If you are on my FB, D is listed under my friends and so his my cousin in law (same last name of course). He is very good looking LOL.

Also, I am related to Dale Earnhardt but I have never met that side of the family and probably never will.

I went to school with Julia Stiles (not friends with her, but saw her all the time around campus and she was friends with one of my best friends.) When I was in college, I lived in NYC so I saw a lot of people there. I like NYC because everyone is laid back about celebrities. I hate when people freak out and crowd around them and take pictures.

Spider man was filmed on my campus and I watched Tobey McGuire (sp?) run across campus like 8 billion times for a take. Adam Sandler also did a movie on campus.

I also bumped into the Law and Order guys coming out of a store one time...while they were filming. That show is cool because they film on the streets of NYC and don't really shut the street down or anything. You hardly notice they are filming, they just wander around with a camera.

I've seen Howard Stern running in Central Park a few times.

Darn, you guys all make me want to live some where neat!!! Xzibit was in town for Extreme Home makeover and I had a few friends take a pic with him when he was at a bar here but since I dont drink and dont go to the bar I didnt get to meet or see him.

I used to live in Orlando so I've had a few encounters.

My ex-boyfriend was friends with Mandy Moore's brother, so I met her.
Right after winning a silver medal at the Olympics, I saw Nancy Kerrigan at Disney World.
A friend of mine told me he knew Horace Grant (who used to play for the Orlando Magic in the '90's) but I didn't believe him because he was notorious for exaggerating. I was playing basketball with him at the RDV Sportsplex when Horace walked up and said "Hey" and he introduced me. They actually chatted for a few minutes. I was impressed.

Oh, I forgot a funny one. She's not really a celebrity per se, but people always laugh....I went to school with Delilah from the song "Hey, there Delilah". I ran cross country and track with her for 3 years so did know her pretty well. She is/was (haven't kept up with her) and Olympic hopeful in the steeple chase now.

Do politicians count? I've been on a plane with Jesse Jackson. Joe Lieberman gave my husband an unsolicited shoulder rub when he was campaigning. I've also met a few other Senators and Congressmen for work.

I've met a ton of Christian singers and preachers/evangelists because of my job. A few I really like are:

Steven Curtis Chapman
Chris Tomlin
Mark Hall (lead singer of Casting Crowns)
Mac Powell (lead singer of Third Day)
The Afters (whole band)
Nevertheless (whole band)
Remedy Drive (whole band)
David Crowder (one of my favorites because he sat with us and ate with us and just hung out all night and he's a super awesome guy)
Rob Bell
Louie Giglio

Most people only know those folks if you are in the same kind of crowds as me though, so I don't know if they are considered really famous.

I've also met a lot of Alabama football legends. Brodie Croyle, Nick Saban, Gene Stallings, Julio Jones, etc.

I don't think I've met any "normal" famous people though.

Once flying home from LAX (LA to Houston) Jeanne Tripplehorn (Barb from Big Love) was right in front of me going through security. I LOVED Big Love, I was so excited I turned around to the stranger behind me and was like, "O-M-G, you know who that was, right?" hahaha.

Ummm, Camryn Manheim was on a flight going to San Francisco once.

I am having a major brain fart right now, I saw two other celebs when I was at LAX but I cannot remember for the life of me who they were. They weren't big, they were "reality show" ones.

Matthew Fox left the Starbucks we meet up at like 5 minutes before we got there. He lives here in Bend. I know that doesn't count but it's become a total game now to find him, lol Same with Thomas Beattie (Pregnant Man)

One of my best friends was on a flight from LA to Houston with Paulie D (from Jersey Shore) she sent it to the Wendy Williams show and it was shown at the end! haha....

I know DH has seen/met a ton more than me so I'll have to ask him when he gets home from work!

Oh, I forgot... Jon Randall (Randy) is a very close friend of my BIL...as in he was my BIL's first man at his wedding. He writes country songs, used to be married to Lorrie Morgan and is now married to Jessie Alexander. My BIL is also close friends with Barry Foster, former running back for the Steelers. I have met his parents but not him.
