We normally give our dog Frontline for fleas and ticks (but not during the winter). Last summer when I was pregnant I was a little paranoid, and wouldn't pet her too much the first week after we applied it each month. They say it is fine, but also recommend that you wash your hands after you handle your dog. Of course, we pet our dog all the time, and Stella loves to grab her hair. We found our first tick of the season on the dog yesterday, so we should do something, but I don't want to be so paranoid about letting Stella pet her. What do other people use?

I called the manufacturer about it when I was pregnant. They said to just wait till it dried before touching the dog. I found Advantage and Frontline are the only thing that really works- everything else might be cheaper but they're a waste of money.
