i am freaking awful at it! i've been putting makenna to sleep in her crib every night and then when she wakes up, i bring her to my bed. however, i am so bad at guessing what to put her in/blankets/fan on/ect that she either wakes up sweating or freezing and i'm positive she'd sleep longer if i could get my act together

anyway, her bedroom is upstairs, ours is down...it's SO different in the temp between the up and downstairs! so i can't base what to do with her with how i feel in my room. and then the temperature changes, if it's warm in her room then i'll turn the fan on....but when she wakes up the room will be freezing! or it will be in reverse, really cold up there so I'll cover her with a thicker blanket only to have her wake up 2 hours later sweating. gah. it's so irritating.

but the positive is i can lay her down asleep in her crib and she doesn't instantly wake up and freak out anymore

Oh my gosh, I know what you mean!!! We had the exact same problem when Arie slept in her crib...and it was in the same freakin room!! Our comforter is SOOO warm though, and we have a temper-pedic (I think you do too, right?) and those get warm as well.

I've noticed lately that she'll wake up from her naps absolutely sweating so I've stopped putting her in her sleepers, now she is in summery pjs...but we've also stopped putting her in her crib because after we both got sick at the same time, I just didn't have it in me, and I still don't have the energy to even start to try. Hence the reason we put our bed on the floor lol.

BUT when we move and she gets her own room, I'm going to try to get her to sleep in there. So that's amazing that Kenna is sleeping in her crib!! Sorry, no answers here...I never know if my daughter is hot or cold, can't wait until she can let me know!

Ty sleeps really hot and in between dh and I, so he just sleeps in a onesie or a light one piece sleeper. He kicks the covers off himself too. I keep our house at 68 degrees at night. I used to worry he would be too cool until I realized what a hot sleeper he is.

We have the same issue with our bedroom downstairs and the nursery upstairs.

For example, two nights ago it was warm all day, so I kept the fan on and the window cracked open and she slept in a onesie. Then last night, I dressed her in jammies (long sleeves and pants) because it was cooler --the girl will NOT keep socks on, so this morning she woke up with freezing feet as the temperature dropped overnight.

Her "problem" with socks is she loves to stick her toes through her afghan.

We have a similar problem. Our bedrooms are all upstairs, but we're downstairs more so it's like it stays warmer downstairs and cools down upstairs because the heat isn't kicking on. What I do is right before we go upstairs for her bath/bed, we crank up the heat super high for about 5 minutes with her door shut to the nursery....and that has helped big time.
