Holden has a staph infection I noticed a little bug bite looking thing on his inner thigh on Saturday and its progressively gotten worse looking since then. This morning I noticed another small "bug bite" above the original one, so I decided to call his doctor. he looked at it and said he thinks it looks like a staph infection, however, its not a serious case. Its not filled with pus (sorry tmi) or anything and its not causing Holden any trouble. So they started him on antibiotics but Im so worried about it for some reason, I guess I feel like its a 'dirty' thing and I feel so bad that he has it.
Does anyone have any experience with staph infections? How long after antibiotics are started do they usually go away?

My brother had one that was really bad on his finger.. They actually had to cut it open and he had to pack it with gauze for awhile.. His took a really long time to heal, but my DH had one also and it wasn't nearly as bad.. It went away within a week or so.. Don't feel dirty, these things could happen to anyone!

It can happen more so because babies don't have the ability to wash their hands and things like that. Some are worse then others and as long as its not MRSA then I wouldn't worry all that much about it.
Poor guy though. Hopefully it gets better soon.

I've never had one but wouldn't consider anyone who did as dirty. It can happen to anyone. Poor little guy, hope he feels better soon.
