I gave Stella a hardboiled egg yolk for lunch today and she broke out in a rash all over her body. She is already allergic to dairy poor baby. I'm really bummed. She might outgrow both of them, but I'm afraid she won't and she'll have to worry about everything she eats.

Aww poor baby. I would honestly ask to have her tested. Usually they say babies are to young, unless they are showing obvious signs of allergies and thats not good. A girl I worked with years ago, her son has major allergies and he just turned 1. He ended up having a allergy test at 8 months old to confirm all his allergies.

Oh, no! Juliana is allergic to dairy. I gave her scrambled egg yolks and she was fine, but I wonder if it's because she didn't actually eat any! She was only about 7 months old at the time and mostly just playing with food. I'm nervous about trying again.

I gave her a scrambled egg a couple weeks ago, and she was a little fussy and gassy that afternoon. I wasn't sure if it was the egg, so I decided to wait a while and try again. I guess it was the egg!

Our pediatrician told us not to give egg whites until she was over a year, but egg yolks are fine. (I have no idea why, I was actually logging on to ask if anyone had been told this!)

It sort of works out because I hate egg yolk with a passion so I will gladly give that to her and eat the whites LOL

People are more likely to be allergic to whites, but you can be allergic to yolks too.

When my 11 year old was 10 months I gave him scrambled eggs and he broke out in a rash/hives. He was my first baby and I was panicked! His pediatrician said not to give them again until he was 15 months and try again then.

He hasn't had any food allergies since.

I would probably check with your ped.

Poor Stella. My Nephew has horrible egg allergies and it has really limited what he can eat. If he even comes in contact with egg he starts throwing up and gets hives.

I've been really lucky that neither of my children has shown signs of food allergy. Caleb has had egg whites and yolk. I have also ( ) given him whole milk with out a problem. But I am dreading peanut butter...

Hopefully she will out grow her allergies. Grace had really bad eczema and was allergy tested at 1 year (they did the pricks up and down her back). The tests came back negative and she has finally started to out grow the eczema.

Poor baby. My niece had a dairy allergy & grew out of it by the time she was 2 when they took her to the allergist. But yeah, I'd try to take her to an allergy Dr. My friend's son had a reaction to cashews & went for allergy tests at about 10-11 months. I'd definitely talk to your pedi about it.

Sorry, dont mean to hijack the thread, but
Im glad to hear this. We ran out of formula yesterday and I had such a migraine I said screw it, and gave her some of Kaitlyns soy milk for dinner, and with breakfast, and lunch today. I did go get more formula though so she's back on it, but I debated for a while before doing it, but she was fine. No reactions at all, and loved it, even took it cold and in a cup. Im actually thinking that since she takes 3 bottles(sometimes cups) a day, to let one of them be soy milk, and the other two formula but not totally sure yet. Mind if I ask what prompted you do give milk? I would have done whole but we dont have any in our house. Just skim for us, and soy for Kaitlyn.

When Grace went to her 9 month well baby her ped (the same one Caleb has) told me to go ahead and start giving Grace a little whole milk every day so that by 1 year she would be on milk 100%. Anyway she did great and was 100% on milk and sippy cups (no bottle) at one year. I forgot to ask about this at Caleb's last appointment but I figure what worked for Grace will work for him. I give him about 4oz a day and will increase to 6 by 11months. Since I've had him on 4oz a day I haven't had to give him Mira Lax...I'm really starting to think formula was the cause off all his poop problems.

Poor baby! I hope she feels better soon!

My pedi with DD said NOT to give her any part of the egg before 1year. She had a milk allergy and the pedi said that since she is prone to food allergies, not to expose her to high allergen foods until at least a year. I'm sure it's only a recommendation.

My pedi is a little too laid back for my taste. At the 9 month she said to give her whatever I want since research has shown that waiting to 1 year doesn't make any difference. I've have read that too, but since she already had a dairy allergy I guess being more conservative would have been better.
