to leave your baby overnight with a sippy cup of water? Luca wakes up every couple of hours, has like 10ml of water and goes straight back to sleep. I can't help thinking it would be soooo much easier if I could just leave it next to his head for him to find when he wakes up, but I'm too scared of choking to try.

I was thinking this recently! Evie really knows how to use her cup also and thought it would be handy for her to be able to just get to it in the night if she wanted it.
Hope someone can give us an answer.

I leave a bottle of water in bed with Charlotte. Have ever since she learned to hold it herself.

Ug, Emmett doesn't know how to hold a bottle or a cup on his own....we are light years away from even thinking about this.

LOL here too! Actually, even when I feed her water from her sippy, she seems to choke on it half the time.

I say if you feel like he can handle it, and that he'll know what to do with it when he finds it, you'll never get over the fear til you try it. Just keep your monitor on and close to your head so that you'll be able to know if everything's ok.

I'm toying with trying the same thing with maggie, but I'm guessing she'll kick it to the other end of the crib before she needs to find it.

I have never left cups or bottles in bed with any of my kids so I am no help. But I agree that if they seem to be able to handle drinking from it without choking then I would assume it would be ok?

Let us know how it goes

Vincent can hold his straw sippy cups well and get water out but probably more than half of it spills out of his mouth and ends up on his shirt.
