update and a question (OT)

So, I was supposed to have my two of wisdom teeth removed tonight, but I went in and told the dentist that there was no way I was going to go through with it without some kind of drug, I couldn't go through what I went through the first time, again. it was too awful last time. so she prescribed Ativan, and said to take a dosage of 3mg an hour and a half before my appointment, (which has been moved to tomorrow morning).

my question is, have any of you taken Ativan before? what was the dosage? my friend (who is an EMT) said she had 1.5mg and she "was so groovy, she would have let you remove her fingers if you wanted to" and she is a lot taller and heavier than I am.

I've never taken it but I looked it up. It basically says that when used pre-operatively for sedation and relief of anxiety for a procedure, 2-4 mg given day of procedure is the norm. Which is right on target for what you've been prescribed. You can call a pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist (you'll find they know a lot more about the specifics than a lot of Drs) and see what they say.

I asked the pharmacist, and she said that even if 3 was a little too much for me, all that would happen is I would fall asleep. so I am going to take the 3 for sure!

On a happy note, after 9 months, I finally found a bottle that my son will actually drink from! (just in time to start weaning to cups anyway, right? lol)

he has only ever had breastmilk from the breast because he wouldn't take a bottle, but I am worried about how tomorrow will go so I bought a new bottle and some formula because I didn't want to pump a bunch (it takes forever with my manual pump) just to have it wasted.

plus, I can breastfeed after a few hours anyway, once the effect has worn off a bit.
