Is it hard to find a job that makes you happy. I am really fed up wirh how some daycares are. Right now I work for my cousin who you would never know was my cousin because of how she acts. She feels I want her job because I went to college and she didnt. I am so ready to start my own daycare. I just don't quite know where to start. I feel bad because I came from one crazy daycare to another crazy daycare. The director here expects yoy to potty train 10 kids. Three of them have serious behavioral problems. The employees talk about my cousin all the time and how she runs it. Only one person knows she's my cousin. The one person asked why she treats me so bad. Its crazy.

Here is a link that might help you get started - Florida Department of Children and Families . If you want to do licensed home daycare it looks like you have to do about 30 hours of classroom time. The classes can be online or in person. Good luck!

Thank you! My mom has a home daycare. I can't have one in my apartment. Xi wonder is it hard starting a center.

I would type more but I don't have a lot of time so all I can say is that I have been there! I worked at 3 awful centers before I found a decent one, and when I worked with toddlers my crazy director made me change all of their diapers 3-5 times per day by myself every single time and we were expected to basically single handedly potty train them without help from the parents at home. Some centers are nightmares, unfortunately. Child care workers simply don't get paid enough for the crap they go through. ((HUGS))

I agree Aimee we really don't. I receive 8 an hour. I have put in an application on base. I am just fed up. I can't wait to find something better. changing babies that many times is crazy when you have to do it by yourself. It was like that for me at other centers.

That really stinks Joy. I hope you can find something that makes you happy. I have never worked in a child care center but could only imagine how hard it would be to have to potty train and change all those diapers alone. I hope you get a better opportunity soon.
